PUMA LAUNCHES 2024 NATIONAL TEAM HOME & AWAY KITS - REMADE WITH RE:FIBRE

Global sports company PUMA has today unveiled their 2024 National Team Home and Away kits, featuring bespoke designs that celebrate the rich heritage of each nation. The Authentic version has been created from PUMA’s innovative, ultra-light ULTRAWEAVE technology, while the Replica jerseys have been crafted with the PUMA’s RE:FIBRE recycling technology.

The RE:FIBRE process focuses on textile waste as the primary source of material to create new textiles. The recycled material can be used for recycling again and again without losing quality – making RE:FIBRE a more long-term solution for recycling polyester textile waste.

Through the RE:FIBRE program, PUMA is keen to address the challenge of textile waste via a long-term solution for recycling. The technology also looks to diversify the fashion industry’s main source of recycled polyester in garments from being less reliant on clear plastic bottles.

The RE:FIBRE process uses any polyester material – from factory offcuts, faulty goods to pre-loved clothes which allows new garments to be recycled from any color textile to any color desired.

PUMA’s further commitment to sustainability is evident by PUMA’s move to introduce the RE:FIBRE initiative to their Club Replica jerseys for the 2024/25 season.

Nora-Sophie Lehmer, Senior Product Line Manager Teamsport Apparel Excellence, said “The launch of our new Home and Away National team kits marks a great new milestone for PUMA and our sustainability targets. For the first time our National team Replica jerseys will be made from RE:FIBRE. Not only that but from the start of the 2024/25 season we have also developed our Club Replica jerseys using the RE:FIBRE initiative, this will feature 35 clubs and more than three million garments made from RE:FIBRE creating a more circular and sustainable way of producing football jerseys.”

The new collection of jerseys for Austria, Czech Republic, Iceland, Switzerland and, Serbia embrace the unique nature and culture of each country. These designs not only celebrate the rich heritage of each nation but also ensure a lasting emotional connection for generations to come.

Austria

The 2024 Austria Replica Home kit features a red base and intricately weaves Jugendstil architectural beauty into its design, combining bespoke graphics with proud details. The white Away kit, adorned with vibrant blue accents, mirrors the nation's affinity for nature and exploration.

CZECH REPUBLIC

The Czech Republic red Home kit incorporates the nation's colors alongside an abstract print derived from the double-tailed lion emblem, infusing a modern flair into this traditional symbol. The white Away kit pays homage to the relentless determination of the Czech Republic's class of 2004 with a classic design, featuring repeated double-tailed lion emblems as a proud nod to the team’s spirit.

ICELAND

Iceland's 2024 blue Home kit draws inspiration from the breath-taking ice glaciers covering 11% of the country, symbolizing the deep connection between the people, the team, and the surrounding landscape. The Iceland Away kit, with an ash grey base illuminated by fiery accents, embodies the energy of Iceland's volcanic landscape, representing the team's power, passion, and determination while honouring the intertwined natural and cultural heritage.

SWITZERLAND

Embracing the essence of Swiss culture, the 2024 Switzerland red Home kit seamlessly blends heritage and Alpine elegance with edelweiss flower graphics inspired by traditional Swiss clothing. Meanwhile, the white Away kit draws inspiration from the iconic Jungfraujoch railway station in the Swiss Alps, capturing the harmonious fusion of natural beauty and engineering excellence that defines Switzerland.

SERBIA

Serbia's 2024 red Home kit spreads its wings with graphics representing an X-ray view of an eagle's wing, symbolizing both the team's bravery on the pitch and Serbia's storied heritage in sports and science. The white Away kit, with a crisp white base and blue accents, celebrates Serbia's natural and cultural landscape, featuring knitted sleeve cuffs inspired by the mystical Đavolja Varoš (Devil's Town) rock formation on Radan Mountain in South Serbia.

All RE:FIBRE garments are made of at least 95% recycled textile waste and other used materials made of polyester. There is only one Forever - Let’s make it better.

The Home and Away kits are available from March 28th at PUMA stores, PUMA.com, and at specialist retailers worldwide.

PUMA REVEALS JAMAICAN OLYMPIC KIT IN SPECTACULAR SHOWCASE OF SPEED AT PRESTIGIOUS ISSA BOYS & GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Globally renowned sports brand, PUMA, proudly unveiled the highly anticipated Jamaican Olympic Association kits during an unmissable showcase of speed at the ISSA Boys & Girls Championships in Kingston, Jamaica.

The reveal, at the Jamaica National Stadium, came in front of more than 25,000 track enthusiasts from across the country, all gathering to feast their eyes on the future of Jamaican track & field. It served as the perfect platform to showcase the cutting-edge apparel that will adorn the fastest athletes on the planet this summer in Paris – many of whom competed at this event in their teenage years.

Jamaica’s most prestigious athletes took centre stage for the grand reveal, including the likes of double, double Olympic Champion, Elaine Thompson-Herah; the fastest woman alive at the 200 meters, Shericka Jackson; reigning Olympic Champion at the 110m hurdles Hansle Parchment; the second fastest man of all-time, Yohan Blake; former 100m World Record holder, Asafa Powell; World U-20 Triple Jump Champion Jaydon Hibbert; Rushell Clayton, Ackeem Blake and many more. They were joined side-by-side on the track by young athletes from PUMA sponsored high schools.

The ISSA Boys & Girls Championships, often referred to as "Champs," has gained immense popularity and recognition for its ability to showcase young Jamaican talent who have gone on to achieve greatness on both the domestic and international stage. The Championships not only celebrate sporting excellence but also serve as a symbol of unity, passion and pride for the Jamaican community.

Shanieka Ricketts

"Champs is the beating heart of Jamaica. For decades, it has produced an unimaginable number of Olympians, World Champions and World Record holders, who themselves have created some of the most memorable moments in sports history. Tonight, here in Kingston, we created another,” said PUMA's Chief Executive Officer, Arne Freundt.

The new designs represent a perfect harmony of speed and fashion, reflective of the symbiotic relationship between these two giants of track & field.

Rooted in elite performance, they have been designed to evoke speed with cut lines strategically placed to accentuate the physique of the athletes whilst also providing a showstopping visual via Warpspeed graphics that emphasise the beauty of an athlete in motion. Engineered jacquard fabric is ergonomically shaped to contour the back muscles for heat reduction and breathability, with thermoadapt technology regulating body temperature to enable optimum performance.

“In their truest form these kits are an expression of speed. Speed has always been PUMA’s vantage point. It is what enables us to see the game differently, challenge convention and create moments that will live with us forever. We can’t wait to experience more in Paris this summer,” added Arne.

Maria Valdes, Chief Product Officer at PUMA, commented: “What makes these kits special is how closely they have been created in collaboration with our athletes. They are more than just a kit – they are a statement of the collective ambition shared between PUMA and Jamaica. They are a symbol of pride for the PUMA family, and we hope that they become a symbol of pride for Jamaicans this summer and long into the future.”

CLEAN, COURT STYLE: THE PUMA GV SPECIAL IS BACK

PUMA’s GV Special returns in new colorways and with maximum comfort for 2024.

Once a dominating force on the court, now the legacy of tennis and fashion icon Guillermo Vilas lives on. Reissued from PUMA’s storied archive, the GV Special has been elevated with fresh colorways and enhanced comfort, featuring a tumbled leather construction, a perforated toebox for breathability, and gold lettering on the upper. The heritage low-top GV Special is also known for its ultra-thick sole unit, which adds extra cushioning and is one of the shoe’s design hallmarks.

Originally brought to life in the ‘80s under the title of PUMA California, the training silhouette was described as “universal” by PUMA catalogs, defined by its indoor and outdoor adaptability and unmistakable inset midsole. The shoe’s name came from the California construction technique that fastens the upper to the sole.

The California was later renamed the GV Special in honor of Argentinian Grand Slam winner Guillermo Vilas. Although they weren’t footballers, tennis champions like Vilas became intertwined with football casuals and terrace subculture, who eyed premium performance models like the GV Special, pairing them with dark, straight-legged jeans.

The PUMA GV Special is available in a “White” colorway starting April 6, 2024, with a “White/Navy” version following in May, at selected retailers worldwide including Kith, Bodega, Slam Jam, END. Clothing, Sneakersnstuff, WORKSOUT.

THE 2024 PUMA EASY RIDER RUNS IN THE FAMILY

The PUMA Easy Rider is back.

Introduced almost a half-century ago in 1977, the Easy Rider now makes a wider return for 2024. A game-changing design that revolutionized the jogging craze of the 1970s, the Easy Rider was later adopted by football casuals, becoming a staple of terrace culture.

One of the first outdoor-specific soles in the sports footwear market, the Easy Rider’s federbein (shock absorption) outsole is built with conical-shaped studs that dampen impact. Part of the shoe’s design DNA, this studded sole unit is the Easy Rider’s most visually distinct feature. The new Easy Rider’s wedge-shaped profile, heel counter, and superlight padded nylon upper pay homage to the original.

The comeback of the retro runner establishes a generational link through design, which is reflected in Easy Rider’s latest campaign that commemorates the importance of family ties.

Previously, PUMA unveiled two premium, limited-edition colorways of the Easy Rider. Now, the silhouette returns in two new classic, ‘70s-inspired color schemes, in full-size runs for the whole family.

The PUMA Easy Rider is available in “Black” and “Yellow” colorways starting March 23, 2024, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA retailers.

FROM CANVAS TO COURT: PUMA AND SOPHIA CHANG INTRODUCE NEW COLLABORATION

Ten years after their first team-up, PUMA and Sophia Chang are back together.

basketball sophia

Multi-hyphenate creative, illustrator, and storyteller, Sophia Chang looks to women’s basketball as the inspiration for her new collection of footwear and apparel. Guided by principles of inclusivity, diversity, and female allyship, Chang’s approach is heavily inspired by her community. Elevated through Chang’s lens, classic court silhouettes come with collegiate detailing, custom graphics, and pastel tones. Continuing the basketball motif, the Suede and Palermo sneakers round out the timeless range.

As an illustrator, Chang infuses the collaboration with her own hand-drawn visuals, which appear throughout the capsule. The Basketball Jersey and Knitted Bucket Hat come with a playful dribbling graphic, while a montage of illustrations appears on the Wide Leg Pants as well as the Cross Body Bag. The collection is highlighted by the Reversible Bomber which features letterman-inspired details and a special liner that is adorned with more of Chang’s signature illustrations.

Rendered in a pastel “Zen Blue” shade, the collection’s Suede continues Chang’s hand-drawn aesthetic across the shoe’s upper and tongue, while the “Grape Mist” Palermo features illustrations inset into the PUMA Formstrip.

Chang is featured in the campaign alongside two members of her local community of creatives, both styled in the new collection: Bethany Brill, designer and founder of Teddy Studios, and Bukunmi, creative director and photographer.

PUMA x Sophia Chang is available starting March 23, 2024, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA retailers.

PUMA AND “ONE PIECE” SET SAIL FOR ADVENTURE ON THE HIGH SEAS

PUMA joins forces with the best-selling anime series of all time, One Piece.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of TV anime “One Piece”, the partnership mixes classic PUMA streetwear and sports silhouettes with the island-hopping pirate adventure series.

Following Luffy’s quest to become the King of the pirates, the globally popular anime is depicted through graphic elements like pirate flags, as well as scenes and characters from the show that are used across T-shirts, Hoodies, and PUMA’s T7 tracksuit. Selected pieces feature PUMA’s wordmark, cleverly mixed with the One Piece logo. Bringing the collaboration’s story to life, the PUMA x One Piece accessories include the adventure-ready Backpack and Bucket Hat.

For footwear, the collection’s four expressive PUMA Suedes are inspired by the Four Emperors: Straw Hat Luffy, Red-Haired Shanks, Blackbeard Teech, and Buggy the Genius Jester. Each of these figures is alluded to through elevated detailing like a cloud-shaped Formstrip representing Gear5 Luffy and scar-mark embroidery nodding to Shanks. Finally, custom packaging and special gold medallion hangtags come with each sneaker.

PUMA x One Piece is available starting March 23, 2024, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA retailers.

PUMA UNLEASHES TWO VIBRANT NEW COLORWAYS OF THE MOSTRO

One of PUMA’s most unique and innovative footwear designs, the Mostro, is back in two radiant colorways: “Pink Delight” and “Ignite Blue”.

mostro

Originally launched in 1999, the Mostro takes its name from the Italian word for monster, which describes the shoe’s bold hybrid look that draws inspiration from two realms – the sleek but tough sprinting spikes of the '60s and the chilled-out surfing shoes of the '80s.

Truly one of the most distinctive sneakers from PUMA’s archive, the low-profile style boasts defining features such as its signature spiky sole and forefoot strap closure. Introduced in a Light Grey and Yellow color combination earlier this year, the experimental sneaker is now set to launch in two neon variations for its second drop.

The Mostro made its official return through the lens of photographer Chris Maggio in New York City, showing the silhouette through the daily lives of several unique city dwellers. Following that, the Mostro reared its head at PUMA’s "Welcome to the Amazing Mostro Show", a runway-event experience that kicked off New York Fashion Week.

The new PUMA Mostro colorways will be available starting March 23, 2024, at selected retailers worldwide including Kith, Slam Jam, LN-CC, END. Clothing, SSENSE, WORKSOUT.

PUMA PALERMO TOUCHES DOWN IN PALERMO

The PUMA Palermo travels home to the Sicilian capital itself for the new season.

The Palermo arrives in soft new color schemes, faithfully rendered in a timeless low-top profile, featuring a signature Palermo tag on the upper, a T-toe construction, and a classic gum outsole.

This new chapter in the Forever. Palermo. campaign captures the aliveness and sweet life of Palermo through its landmarks, markets, and streets, as two new colorways take the spotlight, arriving in “Grape Mist” and “Alpine Snow” editions.

The Palermo was originally part of a special series of sneakers created by PUMA that paid homage to some of Europe’s most famous capitals, including London, Oslo, and many more. The Palermo was later adopted by football casuals to become a staple of terrace subculture.

Following the re-introduction of the Palermo in its original colorway, this latest campaign arrives as a follow-up to the Jack Grealish and Dua Lipa-led Forever. Palermo. campaign from 2023, which depicted the football heritage of the shoe through a modern lens.

The latest PUMA Palermo pack is available starting March 14, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA stockists.

WELCOME TO THE PUMA FAM: NICK MAYHUGH

Sports company PUMA is proud to announce the signing of three-time Paralympic gold medalist, Nick Mayhugh.

The 27-year-old became an overnight sensation on his Paralympic Games debut in Tokyo 2020, where he picked up gold in the Men’s 100m T37 event – setting a world record time of 10.95 – as well as taking home golds in both the Men’s 200m T37 and the Mixed 4x100m Relay.

In 2010, Nick was diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy, but showed unwaivering determination to pursue a career in sport, becoming an integral member of the US Para Seven-a-Side National Soccer Team, before switching his focus to the track. Despite his relative inexperience, Nick found immediate success, and was the first ever T37 athlete to brake the 22 second barrier at 200m.

“Nick’s story is inspiring for many reasons; his grit, determination and desire to become the fastest athlete is something everyone can admire. We have such an exciting year ahead of us and we are looking forward to writing more stories and breaking many more records together,” said Pascal Rolling, Director of Sports Marketing at PUMA.

PUMA AND X-GIRL BREAK THE RULES OF Y2K SKATE AESTHETICS

PUMA and X-girl explore the rebellious style codes of ‘90s and 2000s skateboarding culture for the duo’s first-ever collaboration.

Sister brand to seminal Japanese imprint XLARGE, X-girl was established in 1994 by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Daisy von Furth. The cult brand’s raw ambition to create “Real Girl’s Clothing” is fed by a sampling of music and subculture.

PUMA’s bold team-up with X-girl is defined by its feminine edge and informed by skate-inspired accents and graphics, used across a selection of cut-and-sew pieces as well as reworked PUMA footwear models. The collection evokes DIY sensibilities through the use of graffiti-inspired lettering, contrast stitching, and hand-finished detailing.

The ethos of the partnership is best exemplified by items like the matching Midi Skirt and Woven Jacket that channel elements of workwear. Cropped Graphic Hoodies with a rolled hem bring a vintage feel, while the cycling-inspired Short Tights and Crop Top are adorned with an allover pattern and X-girl tags. For accessories, the collection’s Bucket Hat and Barrel Bag are accentuated with X-girl beading.

Eclectic takes on the PUMA 180 and PUMA Suede come with a special accessory kit including patches, charms, studs, and pearls, plus boldly colored laces. PUMA’s leaping cat logo appears as a lace charm on both silhouettes, while PUMA’s Formstrip is cleverly reimagined as a carabiner.
