THE CLASSIC PUMA EASY RIDER EMBRACES RUNNING NOSTALGIA

The epitome of a classic runner, PUMA’s 1977 Easy Rider returns for 2024. A silhouette that revolutionized the jogging craze of the 1970s, the Easy Rider represented several significant steps forward in running innovation when it was originally released almost a half-century ago.

Now, PUMA elevates the Easy Rider with a new premium construction in “Glacial Gray” and “Dewdrop” colorways. Arriving in the form of the Easy Rider Vintage, the reconsidered retro runner remains faithful to the original, establishing a generational link through iconic design.

The accompanying campaign celebrates the importance of family ties in its many forms. Consisting of diverse family portraiture, the campaign’s intimate vignettes explore the importance of family and childhood. Reveling in the calmness of everyday moments, the imagery’s locations and styling add unexpected and unique twists.

An homage to the family home, part one of the campaign is a tale of history and heirlooms, with more to come from PUMA and the Easy Rider franchise in 2024.

The first drop of the PUMA Easy Rider Vintage in “Glacial Gray” will be available in limited quantities starting January 13, 2024, from selected retailers such as Bodega, Atmos, and Sneakersnstuff. The second colorway will be released later this year.

PUMA’s Iconic Mostro is Back and Kicking Off New York Fashion Week

Sports brand PUMA will take the stage for a convention-defying experience to kick off New York Fashion Week on February 8th at 8PM at the Park Avenue Armory.

This experience will celebrate the return of the incomparable Mostro sneaker, which originally launched in 1999, and comes from the Italian word ‚monster‘.  This mysterious and nostalgic experience will transport attendees to another world for humans and monsters alike.

In New York’s historic Park Avenue Armory, PUMA will transform the space through light, music, projection and experiential elements to rediscover this iconic statement shoe.

Pulled from PUMA’s storied archives, the low-profile silhouette boasts defining features such as its signature spiked sole and versatile strap closure. The selection of custom and commercial pieces will compliment the star of the show, the Mostro, and be featured from PUMA upcoming SELECT AW24 catalogue. A true hybrid proposition, the looks will highlight PUMA’s position at the intersection of sport and culture.

Heiko Desens, Creative Director for PUMA explains, „With this show we will celebrate the comeback of one of our most unconventional ‘low-profile’ icons. We will also be using this moment to reveal some Mostro design concepts clearly pointing towards the future to build the sneaker archive of tomorrow.“

“The CFDA is delighted to welcome PUMA once again to New York City to stage their show on the eve of New York Fashion Week. PUMA’s collaboration, energy and presence adds to the week’s momentum, and we look forward to their creative prelude and fashion show,” said Steven Kolb, CFDA CEO.

Just like the Mostro itself, this show is intended to stand out as different from the rest.

Creatie and production partners working on this show with PUMA include PRODJECT Agency and Creative Director, David Stamatis. Musical guests and talent will be revealed closer to the date of the show.

PUMA LAUNCHES NEW ARTIST SERIES PLATFORM WITH MARTÍ SAWE

PUMA’s brand new Artist Series launches with Barcelona-born Martí Sawe.

PUMA and Martí Sawe partner up for a special collection inspired by Sawe’s love for graffiti doodles and classic streetwear. Sawe is best known for his extravagant paintings that fuse scribbles, virtuoso details, and flat geometric shapes that he mixes together in tangled compositions with vivid hues. The visual impact of Sawe's work reflects a confusing but sincere context, as the artist finds inspiration in any everyday detail. Inspired by these details, Sawe deforms them, repeats them, breaks them, and plays around with mistakes to achieve his own signature abstraction.

The collection comprises a series of graphic T-shirts and Long-sleeve Shirts, adorned with Sawe’s signature doodles, colors, and characters.

PUMA x Martí Sawe is available starting January 6, 2024, from PUMA.com. PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA retailers.

About Martí Sawe

Spanish artist and illustrator Martí Sawe draws his inspiration from everywhere and anywhere, be it cartoons, plastic bootleg toys, or WhatsApp stickers. Born in Barcelona and trained at Escola Massana, Sawe eventually became a fixture in the city’s graffiti scene, before co-founding Manson audiovisual studio. Following his first solo exhibition in New York City, Sawe embarked on his career as an artist, going on to show around the world in Brussels, Lyon, Tokyo, Amsterdam, and beyond.

PUMA AND COPERNI OFFICIALLY UNVEIL THEIR COLLABORATION WITH THE INNOVATIVE 90SQR SNEAKER

Today, PUMA and Coperni continue to unveil the extent of their partnership, arriving in the form of an all-new footwear design that endeavors to push the limits of innovation.

The future is today, as PUMA and Coperni take footwear design into unexplored new territory while redefining the limits of tech-driven fashion. Inspired by the PUMA football FUTURE boot and high-tech innovation, as well as elements of movement and brutalist architecture, the partnership looks beyond the past and present, and into the future. More than just a concept, the resulting design is a statement of futurism that remains entirely wearable

“We are so proud of this collaboration with PUMA. It is a big milestone for a designer to launch their first sneaker. The 90SQR gathers all our common values: innovation, minimalism, uniqueness. It’s everything we have dreamed of, and we look forward to launching more PUMA x Coperni pieces in the near future,” said Coperni founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant.

The visionary PUMA x Coperni 90SQR is a hybrid creation that is engineered to the specifications of a performance football boot. Defined by its structural look, the cross-pollinated design is firmly planted in two worlds, representing a new frontier of sport and fashion. The 90SQR comes in three colorways - White, Asphalt, and Mad Yellow - each constructed with taped seams over a mesh base. The radical design is a tactile symphony of textiles and details, with Coperni branding on the heels and co-branding on the lace tips.

PUMA’s Global Creative Director, Heiko Desens explained, “From a material standpoint, it’s strictly performance. We stayed very close to the material specifications of performance boots. The square toe is the strongest design feature that takes it out of the athletic world because it's such a classic shape and it represents a high-fashion shoe.”

Photographed by artist Paul Kooiker, the accompanying campaign visuals evoke elegance in movement, as PUMA and Coperni’s 90SQR design is shown in multiplicity. The images reveal the geometric, structural beauty of the shoe next to the natural contours of the human body.

The PUMA x Coperni 90SQR is available starting January 19, 2024, from Coperni stores, coperniparis.com and January 22 from selected retailers.

PUMA AND PLEASURES’ SUEDE XL IS LIVING LARGE

PUMA and PLEASURES are back together, this time introducing a new take on the classic PUMA Suede.

The big-stepping PUMA x PLEASURES Suede XL is inspired by the nostalgia of ‘90s and early 2000s skateboarding footwear. Featuring a low-profile colorway, the sneaker comes with a black upper and black laces, as well as contrasting cream hits throughout. Simple logo hits appear on the tongue, in the form of PUMA’s jumping cat logo and the PLEASURES wordmark, while PLEASURES is also inscribed onto the shoe’s midsole.

This new Suede XL follows up on previous collaborations between PUMA and PLEASURES, including a full apparel collection in October, and the DIY-inspired Overdyed Velophasis sneaker from mid-2023.

PUMA’S STREET STYLE-READY SPIREX SNEAKER IS AN ICON OF SPEED

Introducing the PUMA Spirex, a distillation of iconic footwear designs from PUMA’s archive.

Re-working cues from Y2K-era running spikes, the Spirex is a technical street-style sneaker inspired by PUMA’s heritage of speed.

The Spirex’s technical upper features an asymmetrical composition, composed of a classic union of materials including fine mesh, nubuck, and suede. One of the shoe’s visual highlights, PUMA’s iconic Formstrip is seamlessly integrated, rendered with a structural wireframe construction adding support to the upper. An accentuated tongue lends the Spirex a fast yet nimble look and feel, while rope laces act to fasten the shoe’s functional trail aesthetic.

Below, the Spirex touches down with a tough and hard-wearing sole unit that is not just utilitarian, but a statement in itself. Underneath, the Spirex is equipped with a dynamic constellation of lugs that lock down grip.

The Spirex makes its debut in two monotone “Prairie Tan” and “Gray Fog” colorways.

The PUMA Spirex is available starting February 12, 2024 from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected retailers.

IT’S ALIVE! PUMA’S FEARLESS MOSTRO REEMERGES AFTER 25 YEARS

PUMA celebrates the return of the incomparable Mostro sneaker.

Originally launched in 1999, the Mostro derives its name from the Italian word for monster, which describes its new, experimental look that marked a new aesthetic at the time. A hybrid creation that stands out while fitting in, the Mostro draws inspiration from two diverse realms – the sleek but tough sprinting spikes of the '60s and the chilled-out surfing shoes of the '80s.

An iconic and convention-defying silhouette from PUMA’s storied archives, the low-profile silhouette boasts defining features such as its signature spiked sole and versatile strap closure. Promising maximum flexibility and comfort, the Mostro is an utterly singular design for monsters and humans alike. The 2024 Mostro is constructed with a mesh upper, overlaying PUMA Formstrip in metallic silver, as well as an elastic strap closure and lycra liner.

Captured through the lens of photographer Chris Maggio in New York City, the campaign shows the Mostro through the daily lives of several unique city dwellers. Thawing out after 25 years in cryogenic slumber, the PUMA Mostro is set for its long-awaited re-entry. Joining the Mostro are a group of defrosted individuals embodying the roles of two iconic NYC characters – the Gen-Z tastemaker, and the Tourist. Just like the Mostro itself, these unexpected and bold characters are intended to stand out as different from the rest.

Groundbreaking in 1999, and a work of art today, the Mostro walks the line between sports and style, and now it's back.

Debuting in a Light Grey and Yellow colorway, the PUMA Mostro will be available at selected retailers worldwide including Dover Street Market, Slam Jam, VooStore, Kith, The Broken Arm, LN-CC, END. Clothing, and WORKSOUT starting January 13, 2024.

PUMA AND BUTTER GOODS’ RACE-INSPIRED COLLABORATION IS A PHOTO FINISH

PUMA revs the throttle for its 75th anniversary, as well as the 15th anniversary of Australian skate and streetwear imprint, Butter Goods, as both brands pick up the creative partnership established in previous seasons.

Focused around a compact capsule of items, this high-octane collection is fuelled by ‘90s dirtbike and BMX racing gear, with details and design elements straight from the track, including flame-emblazoned footwear and checkered-flag apparel.
The collection’s apparel is centered around a rally-inspired long-sleeve jersey featuring playful team logos inspired by professional racing, including “PUMA Pro Racing” and “Butter Equipment.” The accompanying shorts look to the finish line, incorporating a checkered theme with PUMA and Butter Goods logos. A numerical insignia nods to 1948, the year of PUMA’s founding, and 2008, that of Butter Goods.

Continuing the flaming motif that runs through the entire collection, the PUMA Suede is imagined in a tonal black colorway with contrast stitching in white, and flames licking at the shoe’s upper, in the form of a patch that takes over the PUMA Formstrip, while a special co-branded tag appears on the tongue.

The latest limited-edition drop PUMA x Butter Goods is available starting December 16, 2023 from BUTTERGOODS.COMPUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected retailers.

PUMA X VIVID VISIONS BY ANDREW BURGESS: A TEXTILE-TO-TEXTILE FASHION EXPERIMENT

Global sports company PUMA reveals a new collaboration with US upcycler, Andrew Burgess and his brand VIVID VISIONS with the launch of an experimental one-off capsule collection

Working closely with PUMA, Andrew has created five designs, each crafted entirely from PUMA’s recycled polyester RE:FIBRE fabric. Shot on models in London’s iconic York Hall Leisure Centre, the art direction combines futuristic fashion design with retro sports nostalgia, paying homage to PUMA’s roots, while celebrating the brand and Andrews’ commitment to sustainable textile innovation

The creative imagery shows the garments repeated over and overreflecting the infinite possibilities of circular fashion, where old garments are transformed into new ones, again and again

Andrew, known for his talent in repurposing unwanted and damaged clothes, was inspired by PUMA's factory partners during a visit to Turkey. During his visit, Andrew witnessed first-hand the impressive progress PUMA has made in scaling up circular textile technology and produced his own bespoke RE:FIBRE fabric from recycled polyester garments.

Seeing the innovation, research, machinery, sustainable practices and production that goes into crafting RE:FIBRE fabric was eye-opening. When I think of garment production, I think of the final sewing stage where the fabric comes together to make the finished product as that’s typically my upcycling process. But learning exactly what goes into breaking down old textiles - that would potentially have otherwise gone to landfillbefore they become something new was super interesting.”  Andrew says.

Collection

The collection itself reflects the beauty of the RE:FIBRE recycling process, with designs that embody the shredded, depolymerised, repolymerised, and reimagined textiles.

Andrew says “My brand VIVID VISIONS is all about blending the past with the future, so working with PUMA to create a one-off collection made from a ‘new’ recycled fabric was pretty cool. The fabric strips on the sleeves represent the RE:FIBRE yarn that’s been spun from the melted polymers, and the cut off trousers and jacket reflect the transformative process that is RE:FIBRE.”

This fashion experiment comes as a result of the ongoing collaboration between PUMA and the US based upcycler, who is part of PUMA’s Voices of A RE:GENERATION – an initiative that aims to improve transparency and conduct greater communication regarding the brand’s sustainability efforts.

The custom PUMA x VIVID VISIONS one-off collection is the final chapter in Andrews’ creative Thread the Loop campaign, a social content series which aims to raise awareness of PUMA’s efforts toward achieving100% of product polyester used, coming from textile waste”, as PUMA CSO Anne-Laure Descours stated. “Rethinking how we produce garments and experimenting with ways that we can move towards a more circular business model is one of the main priorities of our sustainability strategy.”

Since the launch of the pilot in 2022, PUMA has produced recycled training jerseys for Manchester City, AC Milan, Olympique de Marseille and Borussia Dortmund. This month, PUMA have announced they’ve scaled up the textile recycling innovation. In 2024 official PUMA football replica jerseys* including those for the Euro and Copa América tournaments will be manufactured using RE:FIBRE recycled materials, made from old garments and factory waste rather than only recycled plastic bottles

Find images and videos of the PUMA x VIVID VISIONS by Andrew Burgess shoot here and watch Andrew’s Thread The Loop Series to learn about his experience with RE:FIBRE in the run-up to the collection, here.

PALERMO, PALERMO, PALERMO! PUMA TAPS FC PALERMO FOR NEW COLLABORATION

PUMA continues the ongoing celebration of the classic Palermo sneaker, this time connecting with partners Palermo FC for a special-edition makeup.

For this special colorway, the Palermo sneaker appears in pink and black team colors, elevated with clinical finishing like Italian-flag lace tips and the Rosanero’s eagle-shaped club emblem stamped on the heel. Hometown hero and Palermo FC striker Alessandra Impellitteri is the face of the new campaign, captured at the home of Palermo FC, the storied Stadio Renzo Barbera.

The timeless low-top Palermo retains its characteristic tag on the upper and a T-toe construction. Remaining faithful to its original design, the sneaker’s pink upper rests on a gum sole.

The new Palermo x Palermo FC collaboration honors the PUMA Palermo’s heritage and popularity in the terraces of ‘80s football culture.

Impellitteri joins the likes of Jack Grealish and Dua Lipa who laced up the PUMA Palermo for part one and part two of the Forever Palermo campaign earlier this year.

The PUMA x Palermo FC Palermo is available starting December 1, 2023, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA stockists, while there is much more to come from PUMA and the Palermo in 2024.
