PUMA AND RHUIGI’S BARBERSHOP-INSPIRED COLLECTION IS A CUT ABOVE THE REST

PUMA continues its ongoing collaboration with the founder and creative director of RHUDE, Rhuigi Villaseñor.

Following up on previous capsule releases that honor and pay homage to the five boroughs of New York City; PUMA and Rhuigi now debut part five of their partnership.

Drop five is a celebration of the hidden gems, community cornerstones, and local heroes, told through a curated selection of barbershop-inspired gear. Featuring specially designed crests and insignias throughout, part five is an invitation to sit down in the barber’s chair. Premium takes on the PUMA Clyde come with a razor-sharp matching set that includes a collared shirt, track jacket, shorts, and a matching cap. Blue and pink pinstripes adorn the track jacket, shorts, and cap, channeling a preppy but classic look and feel.

Two complimentary versions of the Clyde come with a blue and white color scheme, featuring a tumbled leather upper, overstated tongue with bold PUMA lettering, and fuzzy suede accentuating the PUMA Formstrip.

GET WEIRD WITH AN ALL NEW COLLECTION FROM PUMA, RIPNDIP, AND LORD NERMAL

The cat is out of the bag, as PUMA links up with Lord Nermal and his pals at RIPNDIP. The new collaboration offers up a range of apparel and footwear featuring custom graphics across some of PUMA’s core silhouettes.

The apparel offerings are centered around cut-and-sew garments like the matching Twill Shirt and Twill Pants, adorned with a playful allover pattern featuring RIPNDIP tags, a frisky Lord Nermal, and flash designs throughout. Cozy essentials are included in the form of a collaborative Hoodie and Sweatpants, plus three unique Graphic T-shirts featuring custom designs created by PUMA and RIPNDIP. Select pieces show Lord Nermal as he pounces into action, evolving into PUMA’s cat logo.

The footwear side includes two playful versions of the Suede and two additional takes on the Slipstream, all with mischievous depictions of Nerm. Plus, the collaboration includes PUMA’s very own take on a basecamp slipper, the Tuff Plus. Lastly, accessories comprise a Backpack, Cap, and a Beanie featuring Nerm peeking over the brim.

PUMA AND DAPPER DAN REUNITE FOR PRE-GAME CAPSULE COLLECTION

PUMA is releasing its third PUMA x Dapper Dan collection. Bringing sophistication to sportswear through the lens of basketball and hip-hop, the collection, which featuresclassics such as the T7 and the Clyde, mixes PUMA’s heritage in the game with Dapper Dan’s iconic flavor and unique take on luxury.

Back in the day, those basketball players connected to hip-hop culture would bring their off-courtswaggerto the game, giving rise to the popularity of the pre-game walk. The modern pre-game walk has becomean iconic runway for ballers to showcase their latest fits, and this idea informs the inspiration for the collection.

A velour take on the T7 elevates the classic PUMA staple to Dapper Dan levels and comes complete with gold detailing and embroidery. The apparel side of the collection is given a lux touch with a versatile sweater vest, Mac-style jacket, and accompanying short-sleeve shirt, all designed with Dapper Dan’s unique cultural interpretation of mainstream fashion that early hip-hop brought to the world. The women's collection also features a corset, cropped hoodie, and shorts.

As an ode to hip-hop's 50th anniversary, a unique monogram has been created. The monogram was an essential style code in the fabric of hip-hop, and for this reason, it forms the graphic foundation of the collection. Influenced by early designs from Dapper Dan’s boutique, the PUMA x Dapper Dan monogram has been paired with rare house codes from the PUMA archive.

PUMA x Dapper Dan have also collaborated on two new versions of the Clyde, one of the culture's all-time greats. They both feature the PUMA x Dapper Dan monogram and diamond print on the suede upper, with subtle stitching, embroidery, and zip detailing added as an ode to Dapper Dan'stailoring background.

Since the beginning of hip-hop 50 years ago, PUMA has been integral to the culture. Throughout this golden anniversary of hip-hop, PUMA will continue championing its participation in the culture across several drops and activations.

PUMA AND 8ENJAMIN LINK UP FOR A SKATEINSPIRED COLLECTION OF PLAYFUL PASTELS

Meet Fluzz, the main character of a brand new collaboration between PUMA and 8enjamin.

A fun interplay between 8enjamin’s vibrant color palette and nostalgic skateboarding aesthetics, Fluzz is an all-city, sneaker-loving pastel cloud that serves as the main character for a new collection of apparel and footwear.

An artist and designer, as well as an in-house member of the PUMA design team, 8enjamin’s work is an expression of color, action, and positivity. Defined by relaxed fits, psychedelic prints, and skate-inspired details, the collection features apparel including graphic-adorned hoodies and T-shirts bearing the image of Fluzz. 8enjamin has also created a bubbly rendition of the PUMA wordmark, which is used on select pieces throughout. The collaboration’s mesh shorts boast an allover kaleidoscopic pattern in two color options: vibrant orange, purple, and green, plus a monochromatic take as well.

For footwear, 8enjamin’s Fluzz character informs the Suede and Slipstream sneakers. An homage to some of the artist’s favorite sneakers, and models he has loved wearing himself, the Suede is reimagined with a light pink upper, overstated fluffy laces, and a custom Fluzz hangtag. The Slipstream features a tonal white colorway with pops of purple and pink throughout, also featuring fluffy laces. Both shoes come packaged in a special shoe box that doubles as a collectible art piece. A special bucket hat and tote bag round out the collection’s accessories.

PUMA SETS THE PACE WITH ALL-NEW TRACK MEET COLLECTION

Fresh off the starting line for 2023, the new Track Meet collection showcases PUMA’s sports heritage, reinterpreted through a lifestyle lens.

PUMA recalls its performance roots to inform a collection of footwear and apparel that embodies retro track-and-field aesthetics. This new expression of sports style from the brand’s long history is brought to life to commemorate PUMA’s 75th anniversary.

The Track Meet range features archive-inspired apparel and graphics, elevated details, and retro branding – all conveyed through contemporary shapes, silhouettes, and quality.

At the core of the collection is a dream team of footwear silhouettes, including the RX 737, RS-X EFEKT, Clyde, and Prevail. Each locked with a cream-colored base, the four styles are punctuated with colorful hits in blue, red, and yellow, with rich accents throughout. These four styles are lofted up with details like terry towel linings, aged suede, metal eyelets to evoke vintage track spikes, and a race-bib number emblazoned on the tongue that acknowledges the year of PUMA’s founding, 1948.

Throwback patterns and color palettes define the relay-ready apparel, which consists of matching sets like tracksuits and athletic essentials. Special PUMA Track Club graphics are utilized on selected pieces throughout, including T-shirts and hoodies.

PUMA TEAMS UP WITH SARA BJÖRK GUNNARSDÓTTIR TO GIVE UNPRECEDENTED ACCESS TO SARA’S JOURNEY FROM PREGNANCY BACK TO ELITE LEVEL SPORT

PUMA has teamed up with PUMA athlete, Olympique Lyonnais football star and Iceland national team captain Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir to launch authentic content chartering Sara’s pregnancy journey through to her return to elite level sport. As part of PUMA’s ‘She Moves Us’ platform the various content streams will culminate with the release of a special documentary early next year following Sara’s story.

 

Before and after Sara gives birth, PUMA social channels will chronical Sara’s life during and after her pregnancy, her training regimes and offer a glimpse into her life as a mother as she balances family life with her professional career. The content and documentary will offer unprecedented, never-before-seen access into the life of a professional female athlete as she faces the challenge of returning to elite level sport after giving birth. Sara will give insight into her journey, training schedules whilst pregnant, advice and expert guidance from professionals on her body changes through the process and her recovery post-pregnancy.

Many female athletes encounter challenges and uncertainty over their careers when faced with the prospect of pregnancy. Female athletes are faced with difficult decisions with many having to retire early to start a family due to lack of support, eligibility to play and maternity pay. “Starting a family when playing a professional sport is difficult. I really want to prove that you can come back from pregnancy and play at the top level,” said Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir. “I hope to inspire women to do so and to show that there is the option of not choosing between having your family or your professional career.”

“Female athletes face many challenges in their careers and pregnancy can be one of them,” said Matthias Baeumer, General Manager BU Teamsport. “When Sara came to us with the news of her pregnancy, we wanted to support her in any way possible. Sara decided this would be a great opportunity to give insight into her journey and show female athletes that you can be a top athlete and still have a family. We are thrilled that Sara has asked us to be involved in the process and that she is sharing her experiences as she hopes to inspire female athletes around the world.”

PUMA X BLACK FIVES LAUNCH NEW VINTAGE-INSPIRED COLLECTION RELEASING OCTOBER 8

Global sports company PUMA will be launching their second PUMA x Black Fives collection in its ongoing partnership with the Black Fives Foundation, whose mission is to research, preserve, showcase, teach and honor the pre-NBA history of African Americans in basketball.

The new collection celebrates the way teams in the Black Fives Era expanded their reach beyond neighborhoods where they began, into cities and towns throughout the United States. On the courts of these big cities and remote towns alike, they played an instrumental role in popularizing the game while providing essential cultural inspiration to Black communities across America. The collection is a reminder of their pioneering efforts, which paved the way for the success and appeal of the modern game today.

This seven-piece collection encompasses vintage-inspired designs with historical graphics and authentic logos maintained by the Foundation. Banner graphics showcase Black Fives teams along with cities they played in across the U.S. from Los Angeles to New York.

Items in the collection include multi-colored hoodie and sweatpants, shorts, T-shirt, long-sleeved T-shirt, cardigan, and a black Suede Mid Black Fives, which includes a pop of color on the sole and team logos on the formstrip.

Always street-style ready, the quintessential Cali Court fuses tennis heritage with modern streetwear sensibilities. The stacked sole adds flair to the Cali Court’s otherwise simplistic but stylish après-court aesthetic. A special graphic insignia featuring PUMA’s Jumping Cat logo sits on the tongue, while PUMA’s Formstrip accentuates the upper.

PUMA AND NANAMICA’S NEW COLLABORATION MARKS A NEW HORIZON FOR WORKWEAR

In 2022, PUMA kicked off a new collaboration with nanamica, elevating the Suede with a technical concept featuring GORE-TEX waterproofing, and wrapping the low-top silhouette with timeless colorways.

Now, PUMA and nanamica reprise their partnership to unveil a new conceptual collection centered around neo-workwear. The capsule reimagines workwear with a clean aesthetic, rooted in functionality and comfort. Injected with subtle military and nautical references, in keeping with the meaning of nanamica which translates to “House of the Seven Seas,” the collection features premium footwear and apparel that is set apart by thoughtful details and smart construction.

The PUMA Clyde is reimagined by nanamica, featuring a shroud design that conceals the eye stays, lending the shoe a functional and clean aesthetic. A staple technology in nanamica’s collections, GORE-TEX waterproof membrane is once again used across both colorways, in addition to premium leather on the upper. The PUMA Formstrip is denoted by a stitch-and-turn construction, while a co-branded satin tag is fastened to the tongue.

“STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM” COLORWAY ADORNS THE COURT INSPIRED PUMA STAR SNEAKER

PUMA’s tournament-inspired Star silhouette makes another appearance in a new “Strawberries and Cream” color scheme, in reference to the desert snack served in England since the very first tennis tournaments in 1877.
