AN ‘80S TERRACE LEGEND, THE CLASSIC PUMA PALERMO OG IS BACK

PUMA is marking the return of the Palermo, a terrace legend and a shoe that pays homage to the coastal capital of the island of Sicily.

After being teased by PUMA collaborator and ambassador Dua Lipa earlier in 2023, the Palermo OG is now set to make its official return. This storied low-top originally made its debut in 1980s football stadiums, where it was a staple amongst the terrace crowd.

PUMA’s 2023 bring-back features the shoe’s original blue-and-white colorway, complete with a retro T-toe construction, a classic gum sole, and the shoe’s signature tag featuring PUMA lettering in gold. Lastly, PUMA’s cat logo can be found on the shoe’s heel.

The Palermo was originally part of a special series of sneakers created by PUMA that paid homage to some of Europe’s most famous capitals, including London, Oslo, and many more. Part of PUMA’s storied history, to this day, the Palermo’s unmistakable DNA evokes a deep sense of football nostalgia.

As a tribute to the shoe’s Sicilian namesake, the upcoming August drop includes two additional colorways, featuring vibrant schemes inspired by Palermo’s iconic fruit vendors, known locally as fruttivendolo.

The PUMA Palermo OG is available starting July 7, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA stockists.

REDUCE. REUSE. REGENERATE. – INTRODUCING THE PUMA RE.GEN COLLECTION MADE FROM TEXTILE INDUSTRY WASTE

Sports company PUMA is focusing on the theme of regeneration for its new RE.GEN collection. Inspired by the idea repairing or rebuilding something that's been damaged or lost, this dynamic collection of footwear, apparel, and accessories is constructed from PUMA’s own industry waste and other recycled materials.

PUMA is committed to reducing its environmental impact and living up to its code of being “Forever Better.” RE.GEN is designed for this shared mindset; it’s a modern collection that minimizes waste and makes an environmental statement through street style. It was created in an effort to reduce and regenerate textile industry waste. Apparel styles are made with recycled polyester or at least 20% recycled cotton. All footwear features a minimum of 20% recycled material on the upper.

Moving towards circularity, the RE.GEN collection incorporates three different kinds of recycled material: leather off-cuts from PUMA’s own production, cotton off-cuts from the greater textile industry, and polyester made from recycled plastic. The result is a modern collection that celebrates and rethinks waste.

RE.GEN not only uses the recycling process to influence the creation of the product - it also takes inspiration from it through design features. An all-over print on items in the apparel line includes a unique pattern that’s inspired by broken down plastic. Juxtaposing fabric mixes and unexpected cut lines appear throughout the collection, inspired by upcycling. Every piece features a recycled TPU badge and a label telling the product story. The pieces feature dynamic cutlines, fresh fabric mixes, and tonal colors.

Take a step towards a better future with the RE.GEN collection, dropping on PUMA.com, stores and selected retailers in two drops on March 18th and April 22nd.

PUMA signs Bulgarian pop star Dara as a brand ambassador

Sports company PUMA has signed Bulgarian singer Dara as a brand ambassador to reach out to young audiences in this important Southeastern European market.

At only 17 years of age, Dara became a household name in her home country when she reached the final of the Bulgarian edition of talent show “X-Factor” in 2015 she was signed by the biggest Bulgarian label – Virginia Records. Since then, she has released a steady stream of hit singles in Bulgaria, including the chart-topping “Thunder”, “K'vo Ne Chu”, “Rodena takava” and “Darbie”.

Her recent song “Mr. Rover” also reached international fame when it was covered by Korean singer KAI.

With a large following on social media, Dara is one of the most popular singers in Bulgaria and has become an important influencer for young generations in her country.

PUMA AND KOCHÉ DEBUT A COUTURE INSPIRED COLLABORATION CELEBRATING WOMEN IN SPORTS THROUGH A PERFORMANCE ORIENTED CAPSULE COLLECTION

Coming together for the first time this season, PUMA and Paris-based label KOCHÉ are celebrating women at the intersection of fashion and fitness with a collection that offers fresh take on empowered activewear and blurs the lines between performance and lifestyle.

Established by Central Saint Martins graduate Christelle Kocher in 2015, KOCHÉ has quickly become a mainstay in the fashion landscape. The brand is notorious for its unique DNA, based on traditional French know-how and craft, all of it updated through a distinctly modern take on fashion that fosters gender, body shape, social and geographical diversity.

For this collaboration, Christelle Kocher is leading the way, applying her couture knowledge to an activewear-oriented collection. “I am a fashion designer, but I am also a physically active woman. I started doing team sports at 8, competing in handball quite seriously until I was 18”, she says. “Ever since, barely a day passes without me doing some form of physical exercise. I run, box and do yoga. So working with PUMA on this project gave me a unique, challenging opportunity to bring together my fashion expertise and the kind of technical elements necessary to good performance wear.”

Daring and versatile, the collection’s design is inspired by timeless staples of feminine fashion, rendered exceptionally comfortable, lightweight and movement-friendly. Spanning 15 different styles, it focuses on body-shaping silhouettes made in recycled performance fabrics including polyester and polyamide, as well as organic cotton. A neo-futuristic palette combines sophisticated shades of black, burgundy, royal blue and cream with colour-shifting reflective treatments.

Elevated sports basics get a couture twist through construction and details: trousers and windbreaker jackets are completed with criss-crossed lacing elements. Tops mimic corsets through strategically placed stitching. Long-sleeve tulle tees bring a sense of delicateness to the silhouette. And leggings are decorated with an embossed lace-inspired motif. Accessories - including a spacious draped gym bag, a running waist bag and two different, classic-cut running shoes - complete the look.

“With the PUMA family, we designed these clothes both to help improve performance in exercise and to use as elevated basics mixed with ready-to-wear pieces”, says Christelle Kocher. “Ultimately, though, the collection’s goal is to support women in reclaiming their rightful place in the sports space, and to help motivate them stay active at a time when women are standing out as the movers and shakers in the active industries worldwide.”

The PUMA x KOCHÉ collection will be available in January 2023 at PUMA.com, KOCHE.com, PUMA stores and selected retailers worldwide.

PUMA AND DAPPER DAN REFLECT ON MEANINGFUL EXPRESSION WITH DROP 2 OF THEIR COLLABORATION
The much anticipated second drop of the PUMA x Dapper Dan collaboration comes on the heels of their initial Kith exclusive release in October 2022.

The new PUMA x Dapper Dan collection was inspired by the idea of a pre-game runway, with a luxury upcycled aesthetic complemented by knitted materials and allover monogram designs. The collection puts a spin on the classic Clyde sneaker, a T7 tracksuit with PUMA x Dap logo mania, two tees and a reversible padded jacket featuring Dap’s powerful depiction of the PUMA, rhinestones, and the collaborator’s logo. In true Dapper Dan form, he took inspiration from his Harlem roots for this second drop, reflecting on the importance of expression and what that has looked like for him through the years.
Since the early ‘80s Dap has been a pioneer of design, remixing symbols to create his own signature style. What started as him selling his luxury goods out of the trunk of a car, led to him wrapping cars in his designs for his hip hop clientele, and ultimately opening an atelier that people looked to for the full, Harlem experience.

During this time, in the heart of Harlem, Dap was galvanizing expression through style and design, while others in the community were doing the same with jazz. Dapper Dan quotes that, “I did to fashion what hip hop did to music, what jazz did to music, what we’ve always done to music.” Paying homage to this vibrant time in his community, Dap tapped into jazz and his notable cars for this campaign.
In tandem with the drop of this five-piece capsule, Dapper Dan has redesigned the PUMA jet interior with the PUMA x Dapper Dan print, accessories with co-branded logos, and materials used in the most recent collaboration. On the continuous growth and evolution of his projects, Dap states, “We came by dog and now we travel by bird,” reminiscing on times when the bus was his main mode of transportation and now his designs are in the sky with the PUMA jet.

On January 14, 2023, this limited capsule will be available globally, at several select retailers. Products range from $70-$300 USD.

Worlds Collide in PUMA’s First Grunge-Inspired Collaboration with The Ragged Priest
The first-ever partnership between PUMA and The Ragged Priest is a celebration of self-expression and individuality.

Created to clash, the collection’s styles stand out with asymmetrical hems and patchwork stitching, culminating in a partnership that was made in heaven, with a touch of hell. For over 15 years, The Ragged Priest has disrupted British fashion with distinctive, grunge-inspired collections that specialize in worn-in knitwear and statement denim. Hardware details and distinctive designs have become hallmarks of The Ragged Priest, a brand that has carved out its own sphere between the worlds of streetwear and fashion.

The collaboration pays homage to the design signatures of both brands, featuring optimistic warped neon prints fused with black cult classic silhouettes, asymmetrical elements, and contrast stitching. The collection includes matching sets complemented by wearable essentials, in off-duty style hoodies and sweatpants. Balancing vivid tones and psychedelic patterns with muted blacks and greys, the collaboration features subtle PUMA x The Ragged Priest co-branding throughout.

PUMA x The Ragged Priest also serves up two takes on the Slipstream sneaker to match back with the capsule apparel collection, plus a radical take on the Mayze sneaker guaranteed to make noise among sneaker and streetwear fans alike. The drop is completed by accessory options in a Mini Tote, Shopper Bag, and Bucket Hat.

PUMA x The Ragged Priest is available April 6, 2023 from PUMA flagship stores, PUMA.com, TheRaggedPriest.com, and selected retailers.
