Your Talent

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

  • A Masters degree or MBA is highly preferred

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of strategic planning and business development experience, preferably in the retail sector with a focus on apparel / footwear

  • Experience working and reporting to Boards

  • Strong understanding of Australia/New Zealand retail market and consumer behaviour

  • Proven track record of developing, communicating and executing successful business strategies.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.  Demonstrate and present standard analyses with clarity.

  • Evidence of success in a results driven environment.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written

  • High attention to detail

  • Organized and process driven mindset

  • Strong business acumen and ability to grasp business requirement from stakeholders

Your Mission

As the Head of Strategy & Business Solutions, you will be at the forefront of our strategic planning and execution. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our brand in the Oceania market. Your work will directly influence our growth, market positioning, and overall success in the sports retail sector.

This role will requires someone with curiosity, a passion for advancing potential, critical thinking, and the ability to translate complex business and organisational problems into clear problem statements, plans and solutions.

You will bring a high degree of adaptability, resilience, and the flexibility to lead across multiple projects. The position takes the coordinating role for strategy execution & solution implementation and project management.

Key responsibilities include:

Set Strategy definition

  • Develop short / mid / long-term strategies for DTC and Wholesale in alignment with global brand objectives

  • Work closely with the Managing Director Oceania to maintain strategic alignment across the organization; part of the Oceania Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

Set Strategic Planning Framework

  • Oversee the planning, preparation, and realization of strategy meetings with Oceania Leadership Team

  • Develop concept and execute strategic and cross-functional projects for PUMA Oceania in areas such as overall strategic direction, organizational strategy, category strategy

  • Work cross-functionally to develop, communicate and track annual organizational goals and KPIs for DTC and Wholesale

  • Translate synthesis of research findings into actionable insights

Project Management

  • Lead the execution of commercial research, internal and external analysis, reporting and presentation delivery across Retail, Wholesale and Marketing

  • Drive the development of Market Research and Commercial Insight solutions function, utilizing market research to inform the organization and drive decision making

  • Manage seasonal and categorical macro and micro trend analysis and deliver reports, dashboards across org to enable decision making for multiple groups

  • Manage a diverse range of business process improvement initiatives and projects

  • Support the Managing Director Oceania in important presentations towards the Region and internally (quarterly Townhall meetings)

Leadership

  • Coordinate and provide guidance to Oceania-internal working groups (Category Captains, Sustainability Captains)

  • Effective communication with the view to ‘building bridges’ in managing stakeholder relationships and leading teams indirectly.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing strategy team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

  • Effective line management of team members, including supporting learning and development plans, and disciplinary and performance management

  • Fulfil a business advisory / value enhancement role in supporting management across the Company in the development of good strategic practice

  • Develop & coach team members

Business Solutions & Intelligence

  • Roll out & coordinate Oceania-specific solutions (tools & applications) together with internal stakeholders and Oceania/SEA BuSo Team

  • Project & Program management based on Oceania specific needs along with internal stakeholders and global

  • Create a reporting platform with Global BI Reporting standard/formats; or in the absence of Global BI, develop the appropriate reporting suite for Oceania based on KPI definitions
