Global sports company PUMA has today unveiled AC Milan and French star Theo Hernández as the latest member of the PUMA Fam. The dynamic left-back will become one of the lead PUMA ULTRA stars, joining Kingsley Coman, Antoine Griezmann, Cody Gakpo, Kyle Walker, and Memphis Depay.

At just 26 years of age, Theo comes with a wealth of European football experience having played for Real Madrid before joining Italian giants and PUMA Club, AC Milan, in July 2019. Hernández boasts over 238+ first-team appearances to his name as well as representing his national side, France, 25 times, scoring 2 goals.

Theo is a risk-taking, electric player with raw ability. He is lightning fast and lights the game up in a flash. Theo will be lacing up the ULTRA because fast recognizes fast. Off the pitch, Theo is a stylish icon and following the announcement, he spoke about his decision to join the PUMA Fam and his hopes for the future.

Global sports company PUMA has today announced a new long-term partnership with German International and Arsenal star Kai Havertz, who will become one of the faces of the FUTURE silo. Having taken the football world by storm from an early age PUMA are excited to sign a player regarded as the future of German football.

With more than 200 professional and over 39 international appearances to his name, Kai is renowned not only for his incredible skill and creativity on the pitch but also for his humility, and generosity off it.

Kai kicked off his career with Bayer Leverkusen and swiftly moved to make his mark in the Premier League, joining Chelsea for a huge transfer fee in 2020. It was there he etched his name in history, scoring the decisive goal in the 2020/21 Champions League final, at just 21 years of age. As of 2023, Kai has embarked on a new chapter with the two-time Premier League champions, Arsenal as he looks to add more success and silverware.

INTRODUCING THE NEYMAR JR. INSTITUTO COLLECTION

Global sports company PUMA has today launched a special collection with the Instituto Neymar Jr., a community center founded by Neymar Jr. to support underprivileged youth in his old Praia Grande neighbourhood, near Santos.

For this special edition collection and FUTURE INJR football boot, PUMA worked with children from the Instituto to create graphics inspired by the Brazilian idol and celebrate Neymar Jr. for giving back to the community that shaped him. The children were briefed to draw what ‘Neymar means to them’ and how he has inspired them, with PUMA then using a mix of different graphics that the children created for the final design. 

The children who are featured in the campaign are the children who developed the drawings for the designs, with the timespan between the original drawings and the finalized collection launch being around 18 months. The children were also asked to write their names, which will feature on the insole of the boots and the back neck sign off on the collections t-shirt.

PUMA AND AC MILAN UNVEIL THE NEW 2022/23 AWAY KIT INSPIRED BY THE ROSSONERI’S SEVEN EUROPEAN TITLES AND ICONIC WHITE KITS

Global sports company PUMA and Serie A Champions AC Milan have today launched the 2022/23 Away kit, inspired by the Rossoneri’s seven European titles, their iconic white kits and ‘That Milan Touch’. The new Away kit will be worn by the men’s, women’s and youth teams in their respective competitions.

AC Milan take a victory lap with the fresh all-white Away kit synonymous with some of the Club’s biggest titles and finals. In 1963, when the Club became the first Italian team to lift the European Champion Clubs’ Cup, AC Milan did so in an all-white strip. Six decades and seven European titles, the all-white Away kit remains an iconic part of the Club’s identity.

This season, the tradition continues with the throwback to a fan favorite; the 1984/85 Away kit. The white kit with horizontal pinstripes made an instant impact that year. This kicked off a new era of dominance for the Club, as they went on to win five more European titles wearing a white kit in every single final.

The white base features seven red horizontal stripes across the middle of the jersey in a fresh new take on the 1984/85 Away jersey. The seven stripes represent AC Milan’s seven European title triumphs, from the very first in 1963 at London’s Wembley Stadium, until the most recent title in Athens, 2007. The jersey features black and red trims on the sleeve cuffs and on the V-neck collar, along with the Milan coat of arms on the upper back.

Sports company PUMA has today announced a new long-term partnership with Valencia CF, one of Spain’s most successful teams. Starting with the 2019/20 season, PUMA will become the official Technical Sponsor of Valencia CF.

Valencia CF joins the impressive roster of PUMA football partners, including some of the world’s top clubs such as AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Olympique de Marseille, Palmeiras and Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas).

Sports company PUMA has today launched the Influence Pack, a collection featuring four individual football jerseys each inspired by a special city and its football culture. PUMA has partnered with COPA90, nss sports, SEASON zine and SHUKYU magazine to create jerseys crafted from the cultures of London, New York, Naples and Tokyo.

 

PUMA X COPA90 JERSEY

COPA90 is inspired by New York’s soccer culture. A scene that started as a counterculture movement, defying age-old traditions, a product of New York’s history of hustling and change. Just like the city itself, the soccer pitches draw together people from different backgrounds, allowing them to forge their own traditions.

In collaboration with COPA90, PUMA has designed a special jersey inspired by the great city of New York. The famous five boroughs are a focal point of the design, along with the iconic bridges that connect them.

The black jersey with gold trim features all over graphics of famous places, buildings and soccer pitches located in the city. The crest features a comic version of the iconic Statue of Liberty, while the number five is displayed on the front and the back of the jersey, paying tribute to the five boroughs of New York. Born in 2012, nss magazine has become the reference point for street culture, sneakers and fashion communities and enthusiasts all over Europe. nss sports is a branch of nss magazine who are dedicated to football and sportswear culture.

In partnership with nss, PUMA has designed a truly unique jersey influenced by the city of Naples, the birthplace of nss magazine. The jersey also features a special tribute to the city’s brotherhood with Kagoshima, with reference to both cities and their volcanoes: Mount Vesuvius and Mount Sakurajima.

The slick grey jersey features a custom volcano crest, with the nss logo displayed across the front of the jersey in place of the sponsor logo. The striking green jersey draws inspiration from the city of Tokyo and the traditional Japanese event ‘Kemari’, a form of historical football. The Kemari festival takes place each year and is a platform for players to show their talents.

Sports company PUMA has today presented the groundbreaking new FUTURE Z 1.1 football boot. Prepare to LOCK IN and DRIVE THEM CRAZY with the GAME.ON. edition of the FUTURE Z, to be worn by the world’s most dynamic and creative playmakers – Neymar Jr., James Maddison, Eugénie le Sommer, Marco Reus and Dzsenifer Marozsán.

 

The FUTURE Z has been engineered to enhance the playing style of the world’s most exciting and entertaining players. Built around an adaptive FUZIONFIT+ compression band, the boot provides optimal lock-in and support for explosive movements. The upper is made from an innovative new knitted material coated with a thin layer of GripControl Pro to provide superior touch and ball control. A cutting-edge new Dynamic Motion System outsole has been developed for advanced traction to drive the opposition crazy.

“The biggest innovation of the FUTURE Z is the FUZIONFIT+ compression band, placed at the mid-foot,” said Lilly Cocks, Developer Teamsport Footwear. “The band was developed using a special combination of polyester and spandex yarns, along with special technical yarns to create the perfect balance of compression, comfort and durability, giving the wearer that second-skin feeling.”

PUMA continues to push boundaries with the FUTURE Z by developing a lightweight new tooling system – the Dynamic Motion System outsole. The eye-catching Z-shaped soleplate reduces weight, provides 360-degree lock-in around the foot and maintains a stable plate for playmakers to perform devastating accelerations, movements and skills.

The FUTURE Z has been designed with the help of medical staff from some of PUMA’s top clubs from around the world to ensure the boot has the optimal stud configuration, including the placement of the middle stud at the pivot point of the boot to enhance rapid changes of direction.

“Fit and comfort are essential for agile, creative playmakers. To support this type of player we developed the outsole from a super lightweight PEBA material that has undergone vigorous testing through the development stage. During 20-meter agility tests, players achieved on average 3% faster times when wearing the FUTURE Z in comparison to wearing its predecessor,” said Florian Nemetz, Senior PLM Manager Teamsport Footwear. “The boot has been developed using key insights and analysis which has enabled us to innovate and evolve the FUTURE silo, whilst maintaining the FUTURE DNA.”
