Global sports company PUMA and Manchester City, have today revealed the brand-new Home kit for the 24/25 season. Designed with Manchester in its fabric, the sky-blue kit features threads of 0161 in the trim – a reference to the Club’s Mancunian roots.

Manchester’s 0161 is more than a dialling code. You’ll see it written on lampposts, printed on t-shirts, and even tattooed on people. It’s a sense of what being Mancunian is all about – a sense of location, no matter where you are in the world.

Global sports company PUMA has today unveiled their 2024 National Team Home and Away kits, featuring bespoke designs that celebrate the rich heritage of each nation. The Authentic version has been created from PUMA’s innovative, ultra-light ULTRAWEAVE technology, while the Replica jerseys have been crafted with the PUMA’s RE:FIBRE recycling technology. 

The RE:FIBRE process focuses on textile waste as the primary source of material to create new textiles. The recycled material can be used for recycling again and again without losing quality – making RE:FIBRE a more long-term solution for recycling polyester textile waste.

Through the RE:FIBRE program, PUMA is keen to address the challenge of textile waste via a long-term solution for recycling. The technology also looks to diversify the fashion industry’s main source of recycled polyester in garments from being less reliant on clear plastic bottles.

The RE:FIBRE process uses any polyester material – from factory offcuts, faulty goods to pre-loved clothes which allows new garments to be recycled from any color textile to any color desired. 

PUMA’s further commitment to sustainability is evident by PUMA’s move to introduce the RE:FIBRE initiative to their Club Replica jerseys for the 2024/25 season.

PUMA to become the new kit supplier of RB Leipzig

Sports company PUMA has signed a long-term partnership with Bundesliga football club RB Leipzig and will equip all men’s, women’s and youth teams from the 2024/25 season onwards.

Following the club’s meteoric rise from the fifth tier of German football to the top flight, RB Leipzig has been a breath of fresh air in the Bundesliga and has managed to qualify for the Champions League six times. The club also won the DFB-Cup twice and the DFL-Supercup once. The women’s team was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2023.

“The Red Bulls of RB Leipzig have made a name for themselves in a very short time, not just in Germany but also internationally,” said PUMA CEO Arne Freundt. “We are looking forward to many fantastic football moments and are excited to join the club on this successful journey in the coming years.”

Apart from supplying kits to the different teams, PUMA also secured wide ranging rights for sponsorship, merchandising, match day advertising in the Red Bull Arena and the RB Leipzig Football Academy, as well as digital activations. PUMA will also equip RB Leipzig’s esports team.

Global sports brand PUMA together with AC Milan and Los Angeles’ streetwear innovator PLEASURES have revealed the 23/24 AC Milan Fourth kit. The new kit features two iterations that blend punk, metal, and grunge influences of the LA streetwear brand with the intricate beauty of Milan’s gothic architecture.

Street-smart meets match-ready in the AC MILAN x PLEASURES collaboration with the kit arriving in two contrasting shadowy colourways, symbolizing the transition from dusk to dawn (black and pristine), allowing fans to embody the AC Milan spirit from day to night, and across continents from Milan to Los Angeles.

Reflecting the ever-evolving Milanese lifestyle, the design of the kit’s interplays with the city’s iconic periods of the day — the serene dusk and the awakening dawn and is incapsulated into the Fourth Kit campaign concept, “Out of the Shadows”. PUMA BRINGS TWO GENIUSES TOGETHER: MAGNUS CARLSEN AND PEP GUARDIOLA

Global sports company PUMA, together with Manchester City Football Club and Chess.com, launches an exclusive talk between two geniuses: Pep Guardiola from the football world and Magnus Carlsen from the chess world. PUMA’s ambassadors discussed unforgettable moments from their careers, elaborated on strategies and tactics in both sports, and shared some tips and tricks with fans.

“I have loved football since I was little. I played it every day. I did not come home from school; I just stayed at the school to play football. Then I came home to play chess. It turned out that I was better at chess, so I continued to do that”, said Magnus Carlsen, Five-time World Chess Champion. 

Pep and Magnus analyzed specific goals and moves, emphasizing the importance of patience, strategy, and adapting to the opponent's actions. Guardiola highlights the significance of controlling the middle in both football and chess, while Carlsen draws similarities between attacking on one side and creating advantages. They also discuss the role of instinct and unpredictability in achieving success.

The conversation delves into the mental aspects of high-pressure situations, emphasizing the need for calmness and adaptability. Both share insights from their respective fields, showcasing the strategic thinking and mastery required in football and chess. “I think the way you have to take defenders away with the attack depends on the movement of the opponent. You must pay attention to what the opponent does in every single movement and react to that. Magnus has two hours to make the next movement. We have a second to react or take a decision”, explained Pep.

The conversation concludes with reflections on extended matches, with Carlsen recalling a 7.5-hour chess game and Guardiola expressing admiration for such dedication and focus.
