Your Talent
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science, with at least 3+ years in technical leadership or leading engineer role
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or other relevant languages.
Proven experience designing and deploying AI models in production, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
Strong experience working with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/ Azure) and large-scale data processing tools (Spark/ Kafka.etc.)
Experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn, etc.), model deployment tools (e.g., MLflow, TensorFlow Serving, Kubernetes) and containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
Expertise in AI/ML algorithms, deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, NLP, and recommendation systems
Experience with model versioning, deployment pipelines, and monitoring in production environments
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and motivate a team of engineers and data scientists
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proven track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, business, and engineering teams
Ability to identify and address technical challenges in AI/ML projects, driving practical solutions that deliver business value
A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Your Mission
The Lead Engineer AI will take a hands-on leadership role in designing, building, and deploying advanced AI models and systems that directly impact key business areas, including product design, consumer personalization, supply chain optimization, and marketing strategies. You will lead a team of engineers and data scientists to build scalable AI solutions and ensure the technical success of AI-driven projects. This position requires a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Design and develop end-to-end AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, model training, and deployment in production environments
Lead the development of algorithms and models for various applications, such as recommendation systems, predictive analytics, image processing, and natural language processing (NLP).
Ensure that AI solutions are scalable, reliable, and performant in real-world production environments
Lead the deployment of AI models into production, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and capable of handling large-scale data and high traffic volumes
Implement model monitoring and performance tracking systems to ensure models remain accurate and reliable over time
Drive continuous improvements to AI systems through A/B testing, model retraining, and performance optimization and ensure AI/ML models are developed with high code quality, clear documentation, and thorough testing
Drive the implementation of best practices in model development, version control, continuous integration (CI), and testing in AI workflows
Lead a team of AI engineers, guiding the team in the design and implementation of complex AI systems
Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and ensuring alignment with best practices in AI development
Stay updated on the latest trends in AI and machine learning and bring fresh ideas and technologies to the team
Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into AI-driven solutions
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure clean, accessible, and structured data for model training and validation and Partner with other engineering teams to integrate AI models into Puma’s broader tech stack, ensuring seamless deployment and scaling
Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and out-of-the-box thinking within the AI team.
