Tertiary Qualification in related field

Professional Experience: 

Functional: Range building, price tiering experience, understanding the competitor’s market & where PUMA fits in, forecast planning.

Industry: Sportswear and Retail 2-3 years experience

Drivers license required

IT Skills:

MS Office: excel – advanced, PowerPoint – advanced, Intermediate illustrator

Your Mission

Are you an energetic Category Merchandiser involved with the youth culture and fashion, wanting to grow your career? We are looking for a dynamic Category Merchandiser to join our Merchandise Department at our Head Office in Cape Town. If you are detail-orientated, don’t mind attending & networking at First Thursday & Key Events, social media savvy and a data-driven individual ready to dive into a fast-paced world of fashion - we want to hear from you. The Category Merchandiser will provide the South African consumer with the hottest fashion trends & hottest collabs. If you thrive in an admin-focused environment and have a knack for crunching numbers, then this position is for you. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Global strategy alignment with a South African locally relevant seasonal product assortment
  • Market Analysis and Insights
  • Cross -functional department collaboration

KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and forecast on seasonal product assortments leveraging market knowledge with competitive and market related pricing;
  • Partner with sales, marketing teams to ensure seasonal plans align with company goals and initiatives;
  • Present seasonal plans and product assortments to sales partners, key retailers as well as senior management;
  • Analysis on product, consumer trends, pricing, competitor information at regular intervals and utilize this knowledge to make informed decisions; Align with the global strategy
  • Create visually appealing and effective product assortment illustrations meeting design standards.
  • Stay on top of youth culture, trends & social media engagements by attending key events such as First Thursday
