  • As a Source Development representative in Puma’s HQ, support Line Management of Development Apparel to work on tasks, which are related to initiatives driving quality and consistency across all products of respective Business Unit throughout the entire development process. Focus lies on process improvements, provide calendar support, costing initiatives and sample management.
  • Together with respective Line Management of Development Apparel to align with BU on seasonal objectives and ensure that they are followed through and results will be delivered.
  •                 In collaboration with BU, drive strategic business and sourcing initiatives, i.e. lead time reduction, quick response programs and supporting the implementation of new product innovation.
  • Developing assigned styles in cooperation with Design / Product Line Management / Sourcing.
  • 3.            Foster cost awareness

  • Work with PLMs / Design and Source Development team on possible cost reduction options early in the process.
  • Consolidate critical cost issues for Source Development team to focus during supplier price meetings.
  • Critically review Target Price / Retail Prices setting in connection with specified product details.
  • 4.            Support Deadline adherence

  • Work with Design and PLMs to support on-time delivery of necessary input which is needed to start creating Tech Packs by Source Development team.
  • Notify/red flag issues that arise and organize catch up with people involved when needed.
  • 5.            Represents Sourcing at Puma HQ

  • Understand product requirements and allocate products to appropriate suppliers who are able to produce in the required quality, styling, pricing and schedule.   Supplier selection must be aligned with company overall sourcing strategy.
  • Identify issues upfront that may prevent product sourcing objectives from being met. Including cost targets, quality standards in construction and materials, ease of manufacture, etc.
  • Join all milestone meetings at Puma’s HQ as Representative of Source Development team, like Product Brief, Internal Design Review, Final Design Review meetings, etc.
  • 6.            People Resources Management & Development

  • Ensure organizational efficiency through effective motivation, delegation and proper development of the respective team. 
  • Build up and develop the team (target setting, performance assessment, training, and development), foster productive cross-category cooperation within the greater department.  Manage and operate the department within the agreed budgets. 
  • Continuously monitor and balance team workload to achieve organizational efficiency by make use of IT-systems, data analysis and team feedback.

Your Talent

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field preferred (e.g., manufacturing, mechanical or chemical engineering, biomechanics)

  • 1+ years of experience in the footwear industry; background in running or training footwear is a plus

Your Mission

Join our dynamic Product Development Team within the Run/Train Footwear division as aJunior Product Developer. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Teamhead of Development and collaborate daily with Design, Product Management, Prototype Testing, and Far East Sourcing teams to bring innovative footwear to life.

As a Junior Product Developer, you’ll support the Inline Product Development Managers in driving the creation and execution of performance running, training, and casual footwear. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, excellent time management, and a keen eye for detail.

 

  • Support Development Managers in maintaining Puma’s product management system and tracking development milestones

  • Oversee the product development lifecycle from initial concept through to mass production

  • Manage “Color Update” & “Material Update” global projects; assist with “New Upper” & “Totally New” designs

  • Coordinate Puma materials show twice per year with other Boston-based categories

  • Stay current with industry products & trends and conduct market research each season

  • Research new materials to ensure trend relevance and innovation

  • Assist with departmental logistics including shipping, storage, and prototype organization

  • Collaborate closely with the Fit and Wear Test team to ensure optimal product quality, fit, and performance

  • Build and maintain daily communication with our Asia-based teams; review quality standards, manufacturing processes, and lab test results

At PUMA Japan, you will lead both the operational and managerial aspects of the apparel product development process—from initial concept to market launch.   • High Diploma or above in Textile / fashion, Textile Chemistry or related disciple
  • Possesses 10 years of relevant experience or above in functional fabrics (both knit and woven) is highly preferred
  • Strong and comprehensive knowledge of textile production, fabric construction, functional performance properties, fiber and yarn dyeing, all over printing and panel printing techniques and finishing processes
  • Testing laboratory experience is preferable, i.e. Knowledge of RSL requirements

Your Mission

  • Research material trends (Fibers / Prices / Newness) and present market relevant fabric concepts to Design and Product development team
  • This role supports material development for a range of accessories including bags, gloves, headwear, and other related products.
  • Ensure materials (fabric & trims) are in line with Brand’s sourcing strategy in terms of quality and price and sustainability target
  • Evaluate material supplier performance to develop material strategy to support business growth plan
  • Set up and maintain material prebuild process to ensure seasonal material are available for sampling and bulk production
  • Monitoring material inventory to track material usage and settlement with material suppliers and Business Unit
  • Lead on material related project
  • Review material sourcing process for continuous improvement
  • Closely work with supplier on material development to ensure material to meet our quality standard, RSL requirement and resolve potential quality issue with suppliers prior to order placement
  • Work proactively with cross-functional, internal and external division to ensure a smooth and efficient development and production process in timely manner

Your Talent

  • University degree in Footwear Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience in end-to-end footwear product development
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • In-depth material knowledge and passion for innovation
  • Proactive and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication, intercultural competence, and strategic mindset
  • Team-oriented, resilient, and confident under pressure
  • Experience with sustainability, innovation, and IP processes is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English; German and/or Mandarin is a plus

Your Mission

  • Own the end-to-end product development process, from initial design through confirmation, ensuring technical feasibility and performance
  • Act as the key technical partner to Design and Product Line Management, translating creative concepts into innovative, manufacturable solutions
  • Mentor and guide the Development team, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional growth
  • Drive material and construction innovation, working closely with suppliers to improve performance and sustainability
  • Evaluate prototypes and approve Red Tag samples, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and cost targets
  • Translate athlete and performance feedback into actionable improvements across the development cycle
  • Lead collaboration with cross-functional partners, including Sourcing, Sustainability, and Testing, to deliver against key milestones
  • Assess supplier capabilities and lead onboarding for performance-driven projects and innovations
  • Domestic and international travel required (approx. 20%).

Your Mission

  • Responsible for managing the footwear product development process by supporting the respective Business Units and directly interact with supply partners to provide an effective transition of footwear designs from prototyping into production. Handle development projects with the guidance and support of the Team Leader Development.
  • Receive Tech packages and prepare/review with factory to prepare samples.
  • Communicate all product, shipping, tracking, material ideas and issues between factory and overseas team.
  • Key support on tracking reports and shipping documents.
  • Build and guide tech system confirmation specs with factory creation.
  • Ensure all confirmed tech packages are accurate and on schedule to support C&E teams and timeline.
  • Meet and influence product quality to meet highest standard during each phase of sampling.
