PUMA x STAPLE PRESENT THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON COLLECTION, CELEBRATING THE CRAFT AND TRADITIONS OF THE LUNAR NEW YEAR

The newest collaboration from PUMA x STAPLE celebrates the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dragon, 2024.

This collection brings together a classic element from the STAPLE archives, the brand’s original “S” dragon logo, plus the signature black, gray and pink color palette, with traditional graphics inspired by the craft and traditions of the Lunar New Year. 

To showcase the collection, STAPLE and PUMA partnered with The New York Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club (CFMAC) - the oldest Chinese lion dance club in New York City - as the special guest talent for the collaboration’s campaign imagery. Founded in 1956, CFMAC provides youth with opportunities to learn and celebrate traditional Chinese heritage through the culture of lion dance, martial arts and athletics - cultivating teamwork and instilling leadership in each member. 

The collection includes apparel and sneakers ranging from $45 - $130. All items will be available for purchase on January 30th on staplepigeon.com and February 1st on PUMA.com.

BIGGER IS BETTER: PUMA INTRODUCES THE SUEDE XL

Bigger is better, as PUMA introduces an enormous remix of the iconic Suede, arriving in the form of the Suede XL.

From the Olympic podium to the dancefloor, the Suede has seen it all. Named for its signature material, the silhouette is best known for the rise of graffiti writers and B-boy crews who developed a love for the silhouette. But this latest chapter in the Suede’s history is a pretty big deal.

PUMA’s larger-than-life Suede XL is inspired by the nostalgia of ‘90s and early 2000s skateboarding footwear. Heavily cushioned with exaggerated proportions, the Suede XL features a padded tongue and Formstrip, plus ultra-wide laces to further evoke the overstated aesthetics of Y2K skate culture. The supersized sneaker touches down in an “Electric Blue” colorway , with more to come later in 2024.

The PUMA Suede XL is available starting February 1, 2024 from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected retailers.

PUMA AND P.A.M. REVEAL TRAIL-INSPIRED COLLECTION IN THE MOSS FOREST OF KOKE NO MORI

PUMA and Australian streetwear brand Perks and Mini (P.A.M.) introduce the fourth installment of the PAM/PUMA BIO/VERSE project. For part four, the ongoing collaboration’s main themes of biodiversity, technology intertwined with nature, innovation connecting with tradition, and exploration in sport come full circle.

The latest collection spans the scope of ‘being’ with a campaign featuring hyper-relevant Japanese rapper, Tohji, slipping between the physical, meta, microcosmic and back during a moment of awakening. Shot on location in Tokyo and Koke no Mori 
(“The Moss Forest”), Tohji’s epiphany is captured by Idan Barazani, with beautiful CGI environments by visual artist Matea Friend and an elating soundtrack by Low Jack.

In a joint pursuit of synthesized enlightenment, PUMA and P.A.M. have once again curated a set of adaptable, unisex designs featuring cryptic graphics and omnipotent logos, which appear across a range of outdoor-ready apparel, footwear, and accessories. Select items feature individual snow-wash treatments, creating a characteristic one-of-one look. The latest collection was also created with mushroom leather and recycled cotton, polyester, and nylon.

Evoking PUMA’s iconic T7 tracksuit, the PUMA x P.A.M. Track Pants and Track Top are a matching set featuring asymmetrical contoured color blocking. The collection is also highlighted by trail-inspired garments like the reversible Padded Vest featuring water-repellent properties, and the Legionnaires Cap featuring a removable neck shade. Essential and easy to wear silhouettes are included in the form of Graphic T-Shirts and Graphic Hoodies, featuring special graphics created by PUMA and P.A.M. For accessories, the functional Backpack and Bottle Bag Set are ready for the rigors of your next trip.

The collection’s footwear includes special-edition makeups of the PUMA Suede and Velophasis. The Suede is reworked with a protective mudguard on the toe, suede upper, rope laces, and a co-branded PUMA x P.A.M. badge on the tongue. The Velophasis is reworked in mushroom leather with earthy sand and nut-brown tones, vibrant orange color pops, and a co-branded panel on the heel.

PUMA AND MANCHESTER CITY IGNITE THE YEAR OF THE WOOD DRAGON WITH SPECIAL EDITION KIT AND COLLECTION

Global sports brand PUMA and Manchester City have unveiled a special edition capsule collection in celebration of the Year of the Wood Dragon. This special release, blending 20 years of the Etihad Stadium's rich history with the vibrancy of Chinese culture, ensures Cityzens globally celebrate in style.

The centrepiece of the collection, a bespoke jersey, features hand-drawn, wood-carved illustrations that artfully intertwine the strength of the Wood Dragon with the architectural splendour of the Etihad's iconic turrets. It's more than a jersey; it's an emblem of progress, success, and auspicious beginnings, igniting a passion for Cityzens everywhere.

THE CLASSIC PUMA EASY RIDER EMBRACES RUNNING NOSTALGIA

The epitome of a classic runner, PUMA’s 1977 Easy Rider returns for 2024. A silhouette that revolutionized the jogging craze of the 1970s, the Easy Rider represented several significant steps forward in running innovation when it was originally released almost a half-century ago.

Now, PUMA elevates the Easy Rider with a new premium construction in “Glacial Gray” and “Dewdrop” colorways. Arriving in the form of the Easy Rider Vintage, the reconsidered retro runner remains faithful to the original, establishing a generational link through iconic design.

The accompanying campaign celebrates the importance of family ties in its many forms. Consisting of diverse family portraiture, the campaign’s intimate vignettes explore the importance of family and childhood. Reveling in the calmness of everyday moments, the imagery’s locations and styling add unexpected and unique twists.

An homage to the family home, part one of the campaign is a tale of history and heirlooms, with more to come from PUMA and the Easy Rider franchise in 2024.

The first drop of the PUMA Easy Rider Vintage in “Glacial Gray” will be available in limited quantities starting January 13, 2024, from selected retailers such as Bodega, Atmos, and Sneakersnstuff. The second colorway will be released later this year.

PUMA’s Iconic Mostro is Back and Kicking Off New York Fashion Week

Sports brand PUMA will take the stage for a convention-defying experience to kick off New York Fashion Week on February 8th at 8PM at the Park Avenue Armory.

This experience will celebrate the return of the incomparable Mostro sneaker, which originally launched in 1999, and comes from the Italian word ‚monster‘.  This mysterious and nostalgic experience will transport attendees to another world for humans and monsters alike. 

In New York’s historic Park Avenue Armory, PUMA will transform the space through light, music, projection and experiential elements to rediscover this iconic statement shoe.

Pulled from PUMA’s storied archives, the low-profile silhouette boasts defining features such as its signature spiked sole and versatile strap closure. The selection of custom and commercial pieces will compliment the star of the show, the Mostro, and be featured from PUMA upcoming SELECT AW24 catalogue. A true hybrid proposition, the looks will highlight PUMA’s position at the intersection of sport and culture.   

Heiko Desens, Creative Director for PUMA explains, „With this show we will celebrate the comeback of one of our most unconventional ‘low-profile’ icons. We will also be using this moment to reveal some Mostro design concepts clearly pointing towards the future to build the sneaker archive of tomorrow.“

PUMA LAUNCHES NEW ARTIST SERIES PLATFORM WITH MARTÍ SAWE

PUMA’s brand new Artist Series launches with Barcelona-born Martí Sawe.

PUMA and Martí Sawe partner up for a special collection inspired by Sawe’s love for graffiti doodles and classic streetwear. Sawe is best known for his extravagant paintings that fuse scribbles, virtuoso details, and flat geometric shapes that he mixes together in tangled compositions with vivid hues. The visual impact of Sawe's work reflects a confusing but sincere context, as the artist finds inspiration in any everyday detail. Inspired by these details, Sawe deforms them, repeats them, breaks them, and plays around with mistakes to achieve his own signature abstraction. 

The collection comprises a series of graphic T-shirts and Long-sleeve Shirts, adorned with Sawe’s signature doodles, colors, and characters.

Spanish artist and illustrator Martí Sawe draws his inspiration from everywhere and anywhere, be it cartoons, plastic bootleg toys, or WhatsApp stickers. Born in Barcelona and trained at Escola Massana, Sawe eventually became a fixture in the city’s graffiti scene, before co-founding Manson audiovisual studio. Following his first solo exhibition in New York City, Sawe embarked on his career as an artist, going on to show around the world in Brussels, Lyon, Tokyo, Amsterdam, and beyond.

PUMA AND COPERNI OFFICIALLY UNVEIL THEIR COLLABORATION WITH THE INNOVATIVE 90SQR SNEAKER

Today, PUMA and Coperni continue to unveil the extent of their partnership, arriving in the form of an all-new footwear design that endeavors to push the limits of innovation.

Inspired by the PUMA football FUTURE boot and high-tech innovation, as well as elements of movement and brutalist architecture, the partnership looks beyond the past and present, and into the future. More than just a concept, the resulting design is a statement of futurism that remains entirely wearable

The visionary PUMA x Coperni 90SQR is a hybrid creation that is engineered to the specifications of a performance football boot. Defined by its structural look, the cross-pollinated design is firmly planted in two worlds, representing a new frontier of sport and fashion. The 90SQR comes in three colorways - White, Asphalt, and Mad Yellow - each constructed with taped seams over a mesh base. The radical design is a tactile symphony of textiles and details, with Coperni branding on the heels and co-branding on the lace tips. 

PUMA’s Global Creative Director, Heiko Desens explained, “From a material standpoint, it’s strictly performance. We stayed very close to the material specifications of performance boots. The square toe is the strongest design feature that takes it out of the athletic world because it's such a classic shape and it represents a high-fashion shoe.”
