PUMA renews and strengthens its partnership with Ferrari

Sports company PUMA has signed a multi-year extension of its partnership with Scuderia Ferrari, and will enjoy greater visibility as a Premium Partner starting next year.

In the coming years, PUMA will continue to be the licensing partner for Ferrari-branded products and the supplier of team and race wear for Ferrari in Formula 1.

The renewal of the partnership and licence agreements continue the successful collaboration between PUMA and Ferrari, which first started in 2005.

PUMA and Liberty partnership is in eternal spring. This season marks a new range of essential silhouettes, elevated with luxe, floral details and accents.

Forming their ongoing partnership around the concept of a meta-garden, PUMA and Liberty introduce a special digital print for AW23. A camouflage of florals, the print is a verdant mosaic of different blossoming flowers, inspired by the Liberty archives, which is home to tens of thousands of historical fabrics, textiles, and patterns. 

The digital print is used across apparel for adults and kids, including two matching sets, accessories, and footwear.

PUMA AND NEYMAR JR. GIFT NJR78 FUTURE BOOTS TO 78 PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELPED HIM TO BREAK BRAZIL’S GOALSCORING RECORD

With his historic, record-breaking 78th goal for Brazil, Neymar Jr. officially becomes Brazil’s highest ever goal scorer. To honor the special moment PUMA and Neymar Jr. have designed and created 78 limited-edition FUTURE football boots that will be presented to 78 of the most influential people in his career.  

Neymar Jr. has personally selected the special group that includes family, friends, coaches, current and ex-teammates, and Brazil legends all of whom will receive the boot number that corresponds to the goals they have scored for their national team. Neymar Jr. and PUMA will also give away one pair of the boots in a special competition @pumafootball.

Achieving the record fulfils a lifelong dream for Neymar Jr. It is tough to be a star, even tougher when you start so young. Neymar Jr. came from Santos, a land of expectations, home to some of the most talented players in the history of football. A country of 200 million have watched him grow up, find his voice, and reach his potential.

People will always make comparisons, but Neymar Jr. has never wanted that. His hero Pelé inspired him to become a football player and he himself wants to do the same for the next generation of Brazilian players. History doesn’t repeat itself. The NJR78 FUTURE football boots in White, PUMA Gold and Matte Gold feature 10 unique icons created from images drawn by Neymar Jr. that are representative of 10 special moments from his life. The career highlights begin with a young image of Neymar Jr. on the right boot and finishes with a present-day image on the left boot. Surrounding the images is the line ‘History doesn’t repeat itself’ and on the front of the boot is Neymar Jr.’s first signature that he wrote in his notebook as a child when dreaming of becoming a professional football player. The special coins celebrate the following moments:

2.    A letter Neymar Jr.’s mother wrote to him.

Each pair of NJR78 FUTURE football boots will be presented in special cases with a white protective outer sleeve with high gloss gold foiled graphics. The piece of art features special white cotton archive gloves to preserve the limited-edition items. Each pair comes with a signed Neymar Jr. certificate of authenticity and will not be for sale.

FENTY x PUMA is officially back: Rihanna launches The Avanti

Global icon Rihanna and sports company PUMA have officially launched their newest product franchise together.  Rihanna returns to the brand as the Creative Director of FENTY x PUMA with a multi-year partnership and several product launches in the pipeline.  The return of FENTY x PUMA blends PUMA’s deep history and heritage in sport with Rihanna’s iconic stature as a leader in music, culture and fashion. The FENTY x PUMA Avanti, the first footwear franchise of the partnership, is an unconventional mix of two PUMA icons blending the high-quality leather design of the King football boot with the outsole of the heritage running shoe, Easy Rider.   

Rihanna and PUMA have a history of launching disruptive fashion takes on sport styles over the course of their relationship together – starting in 2015 with the iconic Creeper. Rihanna and PUMA launched several footwear and apparel collections over the course of 2015 – 2018, including the FENTY x PUMA trainer, the FENTY x PUMA fur slide, and much more.  With four fashion shows in both New York and Paris, FENTY x PUMA served as a catalyst for PUMA’s brand impact and relevance over the past decade.

Rihanna’s love of football coupled with the sports’ great influence off the pitch served as the starting point for this footwear franchise. Rihanna’s take of this classic style paves the way for a new era of sport fashion collaborations with PUMA.  

In addition, it was important to both Rihanna and PUMA to ensure that this launch be offered to the entire family—delivering a collection that looks as arguably cool on kids as it will on their parents.  Worn by legends and now remixed by Rihanna herself, the Avanti is also being offered as a unisex shoe for both adults and kids. 

In 1968, the original PUMA king football boot was born, worn by icons like Eusebio, Pelé and Maradona. In 1978, the PUMA miele started a new jogging shoe franchise which would eventually evolve into the PUMA Easy Rider.  In 1998, Jil Sander and PUMA launched the first ever fashion collaboration blending these two styles with the Jil Sander King. This shoe served as the design inspiration of the Avanti which was later established by PUMA in 2001. Now in 2023, Rihanna has added her personal design language and creative elements, from the details of the leather to the gum of the outsole, putting her very own spin on this classic PUMA style.

The FENTY x PUMA Avanti is a fashion take on the football trend with buttery soft vintage leather, a fold over tongue with a debossed and printed gold-foil FENTY and PUMA CAT logo.  With a gum outsole and leather footbed, the details of the Avanti nod to PUMA’s deep history and heritage in the sport of football.  The black and white version is complimented by a chrome execution with laser etched logos and leather chrome details.  
 

 

As Creative Director, Rihanna’s first FENTY x PUMA campaign – shot by Dennis Leupold with a set design inspired by the pentagon shape and stitching on a football – features notable names including Rihanna, A$AP Nast, Pure, Felix Mallard as well as two young kids.

INTRODUCING THE NEYMAR JR. INSTITUTO COLLECTION

Global sports company PUMA has today launched a special collection with the Instituto Neymar Jr., a community center founded by Neymar Jr. to support underprivileged youth in his old Praia Grande neighbourhood, near Santos.

For this special edition collection and FUTURE INJR football boot, PUMA worked with children from the Instituto to create graphics inspired by the Brazilian idol and celebrate Neymar Jr. for giving back to the community that shaped him. The children were briefed to draw what ‘Neymar means to them’ and how he has inspired them, with PUMA then using a mix of different graphics that the children created for the final design. 

The children who are featured in the campaign are the children who developed the drawings for the designs, with the timespan between the original drawings and the finalized collection launch being around 18 months. The children were also asked to write their names, which will feature on the insole of the boots and the back neck sign off on the collections t-shirt.

The Instituto is a place where kids can go after school to learn extra skills that will help shape their future. Being able to work with some of the kids on a collection was a beautiful moment for me, and I hope to make them proud when I step onto the pitch wearing the boots, they designed for me", said Neymar Jr.
