FELIPE PANTONE BRINGS HIS INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO LIGHT, COLOR, AND SHAPES TO PUMA

Sports company PUMA and Argentinian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone are coming together for a debut collaboration inspired by the artist’s work, where elements from the past and future meet in a digitized version of the present. 

Based in Spain, Felipe Pantone’s diverse portfolio of work is united at the intersection of technology and fine art. Through an innovative approach to light, color, and shapes, his work represents how technology has altered our perception of the world. In the first ever PUMA x FELIPE PANTONE collaboration, he brings this digital aesthetic to life on apparel and footwear. The collection’s progressive designs feature semi-translucent materials, gridded textures, and knitted elements. Futuristic gradient graphics and iridescent finishes give it a tech inspired look

"I wanted to create the perfect uniform for myself and my studio team, for work and after work,” says Pantone. “The collection embodies the street look from doing graffiti on the street and the high-tech essence of my studio work." 

 

The collection pieces play with Pantone’s designs for a subtle yet bold look. With a gradient print on the midsole in a rainbow spectrum of color, the Cruise Rider has a bright look that is contrasted with a white mesh upper with leather and semi-translucent TPU overlays. The Mirage Tech has a more subdued look in an all-black design, using gridded textures and iridescent finishes to create a sleek look.

 

The apparel selection includes a wide range of tees, shorts, jackets, and pants, using simple silhouettes to allow Pantone’s artistry to stand out. Graphics like "FP Studio” and “Open this side” are printed on pieces throughout the collection. Further details include use of bright colors, Pantone's signature gradients, and subtle co-branding.

Sports company PUMA is releasing the new Gloaming capsule just in time for the summer solstice. This new drop of apparel, accessories and footwear is inspired by the colors of summer sunsets, which will be launching on the longest day of the year. 

Items in the Gloaming capsule blend in with the colors of the sky, using a gradient of pastel blue and pink hues in the designs. Sport staples like bra tops and biker shorts are paired with fashion-forward platforms for a capsule that’s fresh and dreamy. Campaign images were shot during sunrise and sunset to capture the colorful inspiration.



The Cruise Rider Gloaming stands out with fun color blocking, a dynamic material mix, and a stacked outsole. A playful touch comes from the gradient laces. BLACK FIVES FOUNDATION’S NEW ONLINE MUSEUM PRESENTED BY PUMA NOW LIVE WITH MORE THAN 1,000 HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS .

The Black Fives Online Museum presented by PUMA is a free, multi-use, virtual platform that reveals the Foundation’s archives of nearly 1,000 historical artifacts, as well as related content from the Black Fives Era of basketball. Visitors can see, learn, and be inspired by the stories of pioneering African American teams, players, contributors and related historically important items such as vintage images, objects, ephemera, memorabilia and more. A FIRST LOOK AT THE CORDUROY BASKET FROM PUMA AND BUTTER GOODS
Sports company PUMA and Australian skate label Butter Goods are announcing a new partnership between the brands, set to begin this June. The two will come together for collections heavily inspired by nostalgia and the ‘90s.

Founded in Perth, Australia in 2008, Butter Goods first began as a way to celebrate the love of music and skateboarding the founders grew up on. Those connecting to the nostalgia grew the brand’s worldwide community, and today the brand exists in a place where skateboarding and music collide, inspired by the different counter cultures that were born through those movements.

With both brands anchored in sports heritage, it seems a natural fit that a special PUMA x BUTTER GOODS Basket VTG is being released to kick off the partnership. The full collection takes inspiration from sports advertising in the late ‘90s and early 2000’s and is set to be released in August.

Giving it a nostalgic feel, the PUMA x BUTTER GOODS Basket VTG comes in a cream, corduroy upper with a white stitched formstrip. Also included in the pre-release is a white graphic tee, featuring a vintage logo of the PUMA cat sitting on top of the Butter Goods logo.

PUMA AND PRONOUNCE CREATE DEBUT COLLECTION INSPIRED BY ANCIENT ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE

Global sports company PUMA and designer brand PRONOUNCE have created a debut collaboration together of apparel, footwear and accessories in an earthy palette inspired by Pumapunku, an ancient archaeological site in Bolivia.

Based across both Milan and Shanghai, PRONOUNCE was founded in 2016 by Yushan Li and his creative partner Jun Zhou. The high-end brand reflects the pairs’ shared love of handcrafted garments, and a desire to perfect the creation of truly global, truly genderless clothing. They have a unique approach of playfully weaving in references and inspirations from Eastern, Western, and ancient cultures and philosophies. This approach fits seamlessly into the debut PUMA x PRONOUNCE collection, which combines ancient inspiration with a modern and minimalistic design approach.

In ancient Incan tradition, Pumapunku is believed to be the seat of global civilization, and now stands as a remnant of a vast complex of stone temples and geometric monuments. Taking cues from such intricate architectural constructions in the pre-technological age, the PUMA x PRONOUNCE collection brings this inspiration to life through the use of graphic motifs representing ropes, pulleys, and clay blocks. The color palette is inspired by the majesty of the sunset over Pumapunku, with gradient tones of orange, pebble, and muted grey.

In modern fits and gender specific styles, the apparel comes in a vibrant, gradient color story, with bold color blocking alongside earthy colors. Playful details resembling ropes adorn lightweight woven apparel styles with techy details. Items include tees, hoodies and sweatpants alongside more tailored pieces like a collared shirt, trousers, and a selection of jackets.

The footwear in the collection uses a very textural material mix in a neutral color scheme. Accents of bright orange and rope detailing add a bold touch. Global sports brand PUMA has just announced the release of a new style within their Mirage franchise, the new Mirage Sport Remix explores new lines and constructions with design inspiration from the world of DJs.

PUMA spent a day with its brand ambassador and face of the Mirage franchise, DJ Snake. Arriving on his private jet, following him to the studio where he records, and lastly on stage, he is seen wearing the newest Mirage Sport Remix. I

ts fusion of street and classic sport, with design inspiration from DJ culture and electronic music performances is clearly shown on the Mirage silhouette. The main colorway comes in black, grey and primary colors, which are directly influenced by the lights of EDM shows. Global sports brand PUMA and Australian skate label Butter Goods will release a full collection of footwear and apparel after announcing their partnership earlier this summer. Taking inspiration from sports advertising in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, the collection is steeped in nostalgia

The PUMA x BUTTER GOODS collection is all about an appreciation for vintage sports marketing. It harks back to the heyday of sporting clubs, vintage tennis teams, and bold ‘90s skateboard merch in a way that feels fresh and contemporary today. The collection embraces a cultural moment where across professional sportswear, vibrancy, personality and authenticity won out over clinical minimalism. Campaign images play on this theme and feature a '90s-inspired teen skateboarder’s bedroom filled with kitschy items that bring about a sense of nostalgia and feel for the era.

The design direction is heavily influenced by the era in which Butter Goods’ founders grew up skating in, full of bold colors, baggy cuts and technical fabrics and finishes. The designs take influence from the past but reinterpret them in a contemporary streetstyle approach. Mixed with PUMA’s sport heritage and classic silhouettes, the collection combines premium materials and bold prints presented in a ‘90s inspired, multi-colored palette.

“When the opportunity to work with PUMA came about, we were so excited to work with a brand with such a rich history and deep archives,” say Butter Goods’ founders. “The most exciting thing about the design process is the discovery both for us as the people designing but also in the finished product for customer.”

Classic PUMA footwear styles are included in the collection, with the Slipstream, one of PUMA’s most iconic basketball silhouettes from the ‘80s, brought back in a leather upper with perforation detail. The sneaker comes in black and white options, with green nylon piping on the formstrip, a co-branded tongue, and suede detailing. Previously released in a cream colorway, the PUMA x BUTTER GOODS Basket VTG comes in two additional colorways with a unique corduroy upper, in blue and orange options.

 

The corduroy detailing continues across the apparel items in the collection, with a standout corduroy track top and pants, available in two colorways - an emerald green and cream style as well as a navy and

orange option. A NEW KIND OF URBAN RENEWAL: PUMA’S SECOND SEASON OF RE.GEN

Global sports brand PUMA is releasing the second season of its RE.GEN line, created an effort to reduce and regenerate textile industry waste.

PUMA’s RE.GEN line is inspired by the idea of regeneration in an urban world. The aim is to create a line constructed from textile industry waste and recycled materials, broken down and crafted into usable, non-virgin fabrics. This season, silhouettes feature neutral and minimalistic options as well as pieces with bright pops of color and graffiti-inspired graphics for a truly unique, urban look.

RE.GEN uses recycled materials in all line pieces. Apparel styles are made with at least 20% recycled cotton and all footwear features a minimum of 20% recycled material on the upper. Many of the items are adorned with graphics, including the message “Reduce. Reuse. Regenerate.”

The line offers unisex and women’s specific styles in a range of footwear, apparel and accessories.
