KIDSUPER BRINGS CREATIVITY TO NEW LEVELS IN LATEST PUMA COLLECTION

PUMA and creative artist collective KidSuper Studios are back for another football-inspired, co-branded collection, which is infused with boundless imagination and continues to explore KidSuper’s artistic and experimental way of thinking.

KidSuper Studios is a homegrown artist collective based in Brooklyn, New York. In 2021, this circle of creatives joins with PUMA for a second season, offering their unique perspectives for a series of unexpected collection pieces. Bringing KidSuper founder Colm Dillane’s artwork to life, PUMA enters the crazy and colorful world of KidSuper, where classics are transformed into never-before-seen designs.

The PUMA x KidSuper Studios second collaboration boasts mix-and-match design elements, experimental prints, and challenges the conventional look of a sneaker. Hook and loop closures, decorative zig-zag stitching, and embroidered branding are complemented by raw edges for a purposefully unfinished look. Inspired by Dillane's unbridled love of football, campaign images were shot with his favorite team and recent Copa Libertadores champions, Brazilian club Palmeiras. PUMA sponsored athletes William, Gabriel Veron, Weverton and Renan serve as the models for the collection.

Painting and sketching graphics handmade by KidSuper are brought to life on the apparel pieces in the collection. Items like the hoodie and puffer jacket have a printed painting. Sketches of a face are made into a camo print on the fleece top and pants.

Possibly the most unique and impressive piece in the collection is the bathrobe. It comes in a red, yellow and white all-over-print with co-branded embroidery on the back with piping on collar edge, cuff and hem. It further features a belt, front pockets, and internal pocket. The football inspiration shines through in items such as the crew neck, adorned with the KidSuper football club logo.

Classic PUMA footwear styles are practically unrecognizable with the transformations in this collection. The RS-2K Slip-on is the standout piece, featuring the same camo inspired face print as the fleece top and pants, with a quilted upper. Mirage Mox and Trailfox Boot get colorful transformations and feature unique aspects like stitched leather pieces on the collar to hold a pencil on the Trailfox and tie dye laces on the Mirage Mox. The Vesuvo offers a more subtle option, with a white leather upper and semi-translucent rubber overlay on the heel, KidSuper Studios embroidery on hook and loop straps, and an exposed foam edge on the formstrip and tongue.

Outfit yourself in a work of art when the PUMA x KidSuper collection drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on March 13th

VINTAGE MEETS MODERN:NEW COLLECTION FROM PUMA AND MAISON KITSUNÉ
Sports company PUMA and fashion brand Maison Kitsuné are partnering together for the first time for a full collection, merging the brand’s Paris-meets-Toyko aesthetic with PUMA’s classic styles and sport heritage.

For their first collaboration together, PUMA X MAISON KITSUNÉ takes classic silhouettes and reworks them, resulting in a vintage yet modern look. Taking from Maison Kitsuné’s roots, the designs merge Japanese and French design elements, as well as incorporate PUMA’s DNA, to create a fresh and unique collection. The color palette plays with different shades but keeps it mostly tonal and earthy. Rubberized finishes and authentic co-branding help make this a collection that’s the epitome of chic street style. Maison Kitsuné’s signature Fox logos can be seen throughout the collection, coming from “Maison,” the French word for house, and “Kitsuné” the Japanese word for fox. It represents a symbol of versatility, much like the brand itself, and they know how to adapt according to inspiration, as showcased in this collection.

Maison Kitsuné’s signature elevated basics merge perfectly with classic PUMA silhouettes for the apparel in the collection. Detailed utilitarian pieces like the Military Jacket and Cargo Pants stand out alongside basics like track suits, tees, and hoodies that feature embroidery and minimalistic designs. The Military Jacket is made of a technical fabric that not only protects you from winds, but also keeps you comfortable in wet conditions too. It includes an all-over graphic print lining with thin padding and multiple front flaps and hook and loop pockets for secure storage solutions. Coming in perfect form and function, the Cargo Pants feature six pockets, graphic embroidery, and a regular fit.

Rubber mudguards are a key element in the footwear story, rooted in Japanese heritage, much like Maison Kitsuné. The Ralph Sampson Mid comes in a black nylon upper with a molded rubber overlay in tan, in a mid-cut style. The Roma takes on a more subtle and clean look with a white leather upper with contrast stitching and a tan gum outsole. The collection also includes the Ralph Sampson Lo in two additional colorways.

Minimalism meets functionality at its fullest for the accessories in the collection, including a backpack, waist bags, caps, and bucket hat. The Backpack comes in a muted tan design with a zip opening, rolltop construction to vary volume, and an external padded laptop compartment. The Waist Bag comes in black and tan versions with multiple compartments and an adjustable jacquard webbing shoulder strap with PUMA x MAISON KITSUNÉ branding and embroidery.

Outfit yourself in elevated basics when the PUMA X MAISON KITSUNÉ collection drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on March 27th. The collaboration is also available on maisonkitsune.com and select Maison Kitsuné stores across the world.

A PROGRESSIVE ADDITION TO PUMA’S RIDER FAMILY

Sports company PUMA is adding a progressive new design to its popular Rider franchise with the addition of the Wild Rider. Its premium design is inspired by the movement and motion of city life – always going forward, further, faster, and beyond.

The Wild Rider brings PUMA’s selection of ‘Futro’ styles to the next level - referencing different decades, mixing them up and combining them with modern technologies and construction techniques. The Wild Rider pushes the Rider product language forward, evolving it with fresh layers of material and futuristic circles at the midsole.

Taking archive inspiration from the Easy Rider II OG, the design is a ‘collage’ of past and future melted together – which can be seen in the debossed concave holes on the midsole and a rubber midsole wrap with embossed studs. This silhouette brings a whole new dimension to the Rider family, featuring a nylon upper with suede and premium leather overlays, TPU details on the eyelet and heel, a terry towel lining, deco stitching on upper, and the signature Rider foam. Just the heel alone has a series of unique design finishes, like a formstrip that flows into a heel pull, “Designed by PUMA” emblazoned across the back, and a hairy suede overlay. The back of heel also juts out from a futro inspired accent, further playing on the idea of motion that serves as inspiration for the shoe. Hints of vivid, almost industrial colors like royal blue to play with this idea of bringing together the past and the future.

The Wild Rider drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on April 10th.

INSPIRED BY TECH: PUMA LAUNCHES NEW OP-1 PWRFRAME FRANCHISE

Sports company PUMA brings newness this season with OP-1 PWRFrame, an innovative style fusing street and vis-tech, standing out with a progressive design and futuristic feel. With new and exciting drops every month, the PWRFrame franchise will surely captivate every sneakerhead’s eyes.

The OP-1 PWRFrame emphasizes pure functionality through an almost simplistic approach, taking architectural structures as a basis behind the design inspiration, while simultaneously creating a bold look through the overall silhouette.

“The design emphasizes functionality through a collage of contrasting construction techniques and manufacturing processes,” says Danny Taylor, Lead Sportstyle Designer for PUMA. “The PWRFrame component defines the overall vibrant look and shape of the shoe. It splices through the two-part midsole and loops around the heel, giving the design its unique aesthetic and DNA, while still retaining enough simplicity to communicate its functionality.”

The OP-1 PWRFrame plays with a contemporary and clean design. The upper contrasts more technical processes, like bonding and embroidery, with traditional overlay elements for a streetwear focused design. Neon accents on the PWRFrame component appear throughout all the OP-1 PWRFrame styles to draw attention to this new tech. It features a continuous ring of support from heel to midfoot – providing optimal comfort. Serving as the connecting structure between specific points on the shoe that require stability, the aesthetic of this element represents a more industrial approach.

The style will debut in May and be followed by a series of additional colorways throughout the summer. Step into the future with OP-1 PWRFrame when it drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on May 15th.

NEYMAR JR’S OFF-PITCH STYLE GETS A WILD NEW LOOK

PUMA surprises with a new style to its popular Rider franchise, the Wild Rider. Neymar Jr’s favorite new shoe off-pitch was inspired by the movement and motion of city life.

PUMA ambassador Neymar Jr. is always pushing himself forward, making the Wild Rider the perfect shoe for his first major lifestyle campaign with PUMA. Not only is he known for his accolades on the pitch, but his style off the pitch also draws a lot of interest. As someone who is changing the game, he embodies the theme of the shoe, made to celebrate youth culture and mobility.

“As someone who loves streetwear, I was thrilled when PUMA approached me about being the face of a shoe outside of football,” said Neymar Jr. “You won’t take the Wild Rider off; I’ve been wearing it non-stop. É o meu favorito!”

This Wild Rider brings a whole new dimension to the Rider family, with fresh layers of material and futuristic circles at the midsole. Its premium design is inspired by the movement and motion of city life – always going forward, further, faster, and beyond.

“We consider the Rider family to be very much a constant evolving conversation; what started the Future Rider, which was very much linked to the Easy Rider II, has progressed into something that can stand on its own without being too obvious to the original inspiration,” says Danny Taylor, Design Lead Sportstyle Footwear. “With each release we are able to push the Rider product language forward, constantly evolving it season by season.”

The Wild Rider continues to play with PUMA’s futro design language. Taking archive inspiration from the Rider OG and elements from a 90’s track spike, the design is a ‘collage’ of past and future melted together. The progressive design language of the Wild Rider includes unique design finishes like a formstrip that flows into a heel pull, “Designed by PUMA” emblazoned across the back, and the back of heel also juts out from a futro inspired accent, further playing on the idea of motion that serves as inspiration for the shoe. This drop features a nylon upper with suede overlays and a leather formstrip, along with TPU details on eyelet and heel and the signature Rider foam.

PAST MEETS FUTURE WITH PUMA’S NEW MIRAGE SPORT
Global sports company PUMA expands its Mirage franchise with its hot new addition, the Mirage Sport. Taking cues from the archive and mixing them with contemporary design elements comes this new style inspired by the energetic, trippy world of DJ culture.

Mirage Sport is a successor in a long lineage of Mirage shoes that started back in the 70s. The design team worked hard to bring PUMA’s FUTRO design language forward, playing with archive references and mashing them with futuristic details. The color palette is muted, almost washed-out to keep the attention on the richness of the materials and the construction of the shoe.

“For the initial drop we wanted to expose the manufacturing process and the imperfections that come in the early sampling process of a sneaker,” says Danny Taylor, PUMA’s Design Lead for Sportstyle Footwear. “This can be seen through exposing the foam under the collar, exaggerating the loose edges of the materials and various elements that are intentionally disconnected from the upper to emphasize the overall layering.”

The new addition to the growing range of Mirage will be available starting June 5th in PUMA Stores, PUMA.com, and select retailers worldwide. New colorways will be available through the rest of 2021.
