Your Talent
- ACA / ACCA
- 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, ideally auditing within retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions focused.
- Passion for sports and lifestyle brands is a plus.
Your Mission
Accounting and Reporting
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for UK legal entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
- Review and approve journal entries, maintain general ledger integrity, and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP / IFRS.
- Assist in streamlining and improving close processes to enhance efficiency and reduce timelines.
- Ensure fixed asset registers are accurately maintained.
Inventory Accounting
- Maintain accurate inventory balances.
- Apply appropriate costing methods in line with group policy and accounting standards.
- Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger and investigate variances.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate stock valuation and reporting.
Intercompany Accounting
- Ensure all intercompany transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile intercompany balances monthly and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate intercompany positions to group finance and ensure alignment with global reporting requirements.
Audit Support
- Coordinate and prepare audit schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Act as the day-to-day contact for auditors, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries.
- Implement audit recommendations and support control enhancements.
Compliance, Governance, Risk & Tax
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and support indirect tax compliance.
- Assist external advisors with corporation tax computations and filings.
- Support HR and payroll teams with P11D, PSA, and PAYE-related reporting.
- Maintain documentation for statutory filings and ensure timely submissions.
- Contribute to the financial risk register by identifying and documenting operational risks.
