Your mission
- The position entails full responsibility for the development and production of molds/tooling in accordance with seasonal requirements. The individual should possess proficiency in working with Rhinoceros software to check 2d/3d files based on design specifications. Close collaboration with mold shops, factories, component suppliers, and internal stakeholders within PUMA organization. Additionally, business trips to North Vietnam, China and Germany may be necessary
- As a Tooling 2D/3D Engineer during the development stage, you will be responsible for coordinating with mold shops, suppliers, and factories to identify and address technical and manufacturing concerns. Your role will involve utilizing your engineering expertise to analyze and resolve any issues that arise during this stage
- You will provide technical support to internal stakeholders and offer constructive and feasible suggestions while maintaining a creative approach. You role will involve assisting internal teams with technical inquiries, providing innovative solutions, and ensuring the feasibility of the proposed ideas
- For overseas tooling projects, the majority of the work can be done remotely. However occasional business trips will be required during development stage when necessary. This ensures effective communication, collaboration, and oversight of the tooling process
- Your responsibility will be ensure that the production tooling schedule adheres to the required time of mass production. You will also be responsible for addressing and aligning tooling quality across relevant departments before production tooling opening
- You will report to your line manager in a regular pattern, providing updates on the progress of the tooling projects. It’s crucial to openly discuss and address important topics related to the projects. This communication ensures transparent, effective decision-making, and alignment with organization goals
Your talent
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of working experience as a Mold Engineer
- Good knowledge of mold construction principles and footwear tooling technical skills
- Proficient in using Rhinoceros (Rhino) for checking, editing, and modifying 2D & 3D files
- Familiar with footwear machinery and material applications
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Good command of English in both written and spoken communication
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Mandarin/Chinese language skills are a plus but not mandatory
