Your mission
We are seeking a “Senior Manager Data Engineering” to lead a team of Data Engineers responsible for building and operating scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient data pipelines on our modern data platform. This role combines technical leadership and hands-on development, ensuring engineering excellence through standards, code reviews, and best practices, while partnering closely with architects, analysts, and product stakeholders to deliver high-value data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Leading Data Engineers: Provide technical direction, set engineering standards, and ensure delivery quality across multiple initiatives.
Engineering Excellence: Establish and enforce coding standards, guidelines, and review checklists.
Code Review: Perform and oversee code reviews to ensure engineering guidelines and best practices are followed
Data Pipeline Development: Lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines using Databricks & Apache Spark (PySpark).
Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, analysts, and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions and deliverables.
Communication: Communicate technical status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and ensure delivery transparency.
Documentation: Ensure high-quality documentation for workflows, data products, and operating procedures.
Your talent
Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on knowledge in Databricks and Apache Spark (PySpark)
Solid experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse, SQL Server, and SSIS (ETL patterns, orchestration, and legacy-to-modern migrations)
Experience designing/operating ETL/ELT pipelines with robust monitoring and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of performance tuning and cost efficiency in cloud data workloads.
Experience with Delta patterns and Databricks pipeline orchestration (e.g., workflows / managed pipeline patterns).
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role is required.
Leadership Skills:
Proven experience leading Data Engineering teams (technical guidance, coaching)
Demonstrated ability to run code reviews, define guidelines, and raise engineering maturity.
Strong stakeholder management and communication— able to align technical solutions to business needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
