Your Talent
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Textiles, Engineering or apparel related field
5--7 years in material development (footwear or apparel preferred).
Strong communicator with global collaboration experience.
Skilled in cost optimization, sustainability, and supplier engagement.
Knowledge of global compliance and testing standards.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and PLM systems.
Ability to travel domestically & internationally
Your Mission
We’re looking for a strategic and self-driven Senior Material Developer to lead material development across Running, Training, Golf, and Basketball categories within the USA BUs. This role is critical in delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective materials that elevate performance for athletes and consumers.
You’ll work cross-functionally and globally to drive material strategy, ensure compliance with global standards, and represent the team in high-level forums. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and confident operating independently in senior leadership settings.
Reporting to the Director of Performance Materials, this role is part of the “Boston” team. You’ll collaborate closely with design, development, sourcing, and global material teams, with opportunities to mentor junior talent and influence team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead material strategy and execution across assigned categories.
Drive sustainability initiatives and supplier engagement.
Champion cost engineering and process efficiency.
Ensure materials meet global compliance and testing standards.
Represent the BU in global forums and cross-regional initiatives.
Operate independently in leadership-facing environments.
Research trends, attend trade shows, and explore new technologies.
Support the creation of high-performance, athlete-driven products that meet internal and global requirements.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate materials into product creation.
Provide clear, timely updates on material status, risks, and timelines.
