After the establishment of our state of the art PUMA NITRO Lab in Dillenburg, Germany, PUMA has launched yet another lab – and this time in Boston! The new lab has technically advanced equipment to help us make data-driven decisions to create world class products for our athletes and consumers. Together, the Boston NITRO LAB works with the German NITRO LAB to provide the most up to date and innovative research to continue to push PUMAs performance footwear forward.
Located in PUMA North America’s new headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts, the new lab aims to provide the highest level of testing for our performance footwear. While it is not open to the public in the same way the NITRO Lab in Germany is, the facility is used for footwear related tests and outside volunteers from local running groups can sign up for testing.

Interview with Professor Clare Hanlon on Her Study Concerning Sports Uniforms for Girls
Sport
The women’s World Cup has kicked off in New Zealand and Australia this week, and CATch Up had the opportunity to sit down and chat with one women who advocates for females in sport: Clare Hanlon. A professor at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia, Clare conducted a study in collaboration with PUMA to understand the aspects of sport uniforms that prevent or discourage girls from participating in sport.
PUMA teamed up with the Institute of Health and Sport at Victoria University to uncover girl’s preferences for sports uniforms in terms of aesthetics, comfort and performance. The study aims to help girls feel more comfortable and help them become more confident when playing sports by listening to what they want. This way, we can help influence how sports uniform are made for girls by tailoring them to their exact needs.
Read on to hear from Clare about the findings of the study and why they are so important.

Welcome to the PUMA Fam, Julien! 22 year old Julien Alfred is a track star on the rise as the first woman in NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) history to break the seven second barrier at 60 metres. In doing so, she also secured her spot as the all-time second fastest indoor sprinter at both 60 and 200 metres.
Julien joins the PUMA Fam ahead of this week’s Diamond League in Monaco, wearing our evoSPEED TOKYO NITRO track and field spikes. A seven-time NCAA Champion, undefeated in the 100 metres during the 2022 NCAA season, 100m silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 and gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador earlier this month, Julien’s track record is far from completed.
“PUMA has such legendary status in athletics, so the decision to join their family was an easy one. I feel that together we can achieve great things on and off the track.”
