He has been named NBA Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) and is the first guard to take home the honor since the 1995-96 season. Marcus received 257 points (37 first-place votes) to finish first in the voting. He also finished the season ranked seventh in the NBA in steals per game (1.68) 👀🔒 for the Celtics team. This is the first DPOY award for him. And it is well deserved. Marcus is the vocal leader of the Boston’s team defense and often referred to as the “coach on the floor”. The Ukrainian league is currently suspended and the fighting also reached the outskirts of the capital city of Kyiv, where Shakhtar’s training ground is. One round even struck the team’s training pitch. The pre-match jersey was unveiled last Sunday ahead of Manchester City’s league home game against Newcastle United. It features a white base with light blue hoops and navy and gold detailing. Sport Fri, 13.05.2022 - 16:34 PUMA Athlete Allen John has won a gold medal in the golf tournament during this year’s Deaflympics, an event during which deaf athletes compete at an elite level. For Allen it is already the second gold medal following his success in 2017. Allen took an early lead at the event, which was held in the Brazilian city of Caixas do Sul this year, and cruised through the qualifying rounds. He decided the final against Canadian player Russell Bowie after just 13 holes to take the gold. “I hope my gold medal will help to raise the profile of deaf sports in Germany,” Allen said after his win. Allen has been a professional golfer since 2019 and currently plays on the European Challenge Tour. He made the top 10 in four rounds during the 2020 and 2022 seasons. Rory set the Canadian Half Marathon Record in Houston 2022, where he also set records for 15k and 20k en route to a time of 1:01:08. The 25-year-old long distance runner was born in Calgary, Alberta and now lives and trains in Flagstaff, Arizona where he is coached by American record holder, Ryan Hall.   Rory has represented Canada in the World Cross Country Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2019, as well as, the Pan American Games in 2019. He competed for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah from 2015-2019 where he was a six time All-American. When not running, Rory enjoys watching sports and playing golf.
