INSPIRED BY TECH: PUMA LAUNCHES NEW OP-1 PWRFRAME FRANCHISE

Sports company PUMA brings newness this season with OP-1 PWRFrame, an innovative style fusing street and vis-tech, standing out with a progressive design and futuristic feel. With new and exciting drops every month, the PWRFrame franchise will surely captivate every sneakerhead’s eyes.

The OP-1 PWRFrame emphasizes pure functionality through an almost simplistic approach, taking architectural structures as a basis behind the design inspiration, while simultaneously creating a bold look through the overall silhouette.

“The design emphasizes functionality through a collage of contrasting construction techniques and manufacturing processes,” says Danny Taylor, Lead Sportstyle Designer for PUMA. “The PWRFrame component defines the overall vibrant look and shape of the shoe. It splices through the two-part midsole and loops around the heel, giving the design its unique aesthetic and DNA, while still retaining enough simplicity to communicate its functionality.”

The OP-1 PWRFrame plays with a contemporary and clean design. The upper contrasts more technical processes, like bonding and embroidery, with traditional overlay elements for a streetwear focused design. Neon accents on the PWRFrame component appear throughout all the OP-1 PWRFrame styles to draw attention to this new tech. It features a continuous ring of support from heel to midfoot – providing optimal comfort. Serving as the connecting structure between specific points on the shoe that require stability, the aesthetic of this element represents a more industrial approach.

The style will debut in May and be followed by a series of additional colorways throughout the summer. Step into the future with OP-1 PWRFrame when it drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on May 15th.

Global sports company PUMA has today unveiled the new AC Milan 2021/22 Home kit to be worn by the Women’s, Men’s and youth teams. For the first time in Serie A history, a Women’s team will debut a club’s Home kit on pitch when AC Milan’s Women’s team take on Sassuolo in their penultimate Serie A fixture next weekend. The Men’s team will follow by wearing the new Home kit on May 16 against Cagliari at the San Siro.

The new AC Milan Home kit takes inspiration from the energy, creativity and style of Milan. The new kit celebrates what it means to ‘Move Like Milan’, reflecting the rapid acceleration of the city’s culture as Milan reinvents itself. With respect to tradition and a commitment to innovation, ‘Move Like Milan’ is to move with passion and elegance striving to be more than a just a football club.

The jersey features Milan’s iconic red and black stripes reinterpreted at various widths in a single, symmetrical design, celebrating the creative balance of tradition and modernity giving rise to a new Milan, from the pitch to the streets to the city skyline.

As a horizon of modern skyscrapers emerges in the city, so does a new state of mind. The Milanese are embracing international influences at a striking pace, setting their sights on the future, eager to spark a new era of creativity and innovation for the ever-elegant metropolis.

The two captains of AC Milan’s Women’s team and Men’s team, Valentina Giacinti and Alessio Romagnoli shared their comments on the new Home kit designed by PUMA.

Giacinti said, “I’m really excited to be wearing this kit on the pitch for the first time in our next game. I love the design, modern yet traditional, and how it has been influenced by the city of Milan.”

Romagnoli added, “Wearing the red and black colors day in and day out gives me immense pride. The new kit looks really modern, and you can truly see where the inspiration for the stripes comes from – it is a great representation of Milan’s new and expanding skyline.”

“AC Milan as a club is a mirror of the energy and spirit of the city of Milan,” said Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer at AC Milan. “We are very proud to be launching our new Home kit today and debuting it on the pitch for the first time with our Women’s team. Once again PUMA’s new jersey captures the true essence of Milan, a unique blend of football, fashion and culture that truly sets this club and this city apart.”

Established in 2018, AC Milan’s Women’s team represents a bold new era in the club’s rich history and an important part of the vision and the future of the club with its identity, values and objectives, which has already generated value on and off the pitch just three years since its creation. Through PUMA’s #SheMovesUs platform, PUMA embrace the club’s commitment to support and celebrate Women’s football by debuting the new Home kit on-pitch with the AC Milan Women’s team.

“Together, AC Milan and PUMA celebrate women who move together to achieve and connect – through sport, culture and values,” said Matthias Baeumer, General Manager BU Teamsport. “AC Milan is built on innovation, community, integrity and inclusiveness and we wanted to celebrate the representation of this historic club and the changing identity of the city of Milan in both our kit design and our communication, by elevating AC Milan Women’s team.”

In celebration of the ‘Move Like Milan’ Home kit campaign, PUMA and AC Milan have embraced the creative spirit of the club and the city by partnering with three Milanese design and fashion Universities to deliver a series of workshops and design masterclasses, hosted by leading PUMA creatives to help mentor the next generation of young designers.

The new AC Milan Home jersey combines 100% recycled polyester with advanced PUMA dryCELL thermoregulation technology to ensure uncompromising fit and mobility, keeping the athlete dry and comfortable. The jersey integrates an Ultra-light jacquard structure into the back of the jersey to enhance breathability during intense performance.

The new AC Milan Home kit will be available from May 11 at PUMA.com, PUMA stores, AC Milan official stores, store.milan.com and at select retailers worldwide.

A PROGRESSIVE ADDITION TO PUMA’S RIDER FAMILY

Sports company PUMA is adding a progressive new design to its popular Rider franchise with the addition of the Wild Rider. Its premium design is inspired by the movement and motion of city life – always going forward, further, faster, and beyond.

The Wild Rider brings PUMA’s selection of ‘Futro’ styles to the next level - referencing different decades, mixing them up and combining them with modern technologies and construction techniques. The Wild Rider pushes the Rider product language forward, evolving it with fresh layers of material and futuristic circles at the midsole.

Taking archive inspiration from the Easy Rider II OG, the design is a ‘collage’ of past and future melted together – which can be seen in the debossed concave holes on the midsole and a rubber midsole wrap with embossed studs. This silhouette brings a whole new dimension to the Rider family, featuring a nylon upper with suede and premium leather overlays, TPU details on the eyelet and heel, a terry towel lining, deco stitching on upper, and the signature Rider foam. Just the heel alone has a series of unique design finishes, like a formstrip that flows into a heel pull, “Designed by PUMA” emblazoned across the back, and a hairy suede overlay. The back of heel also juts out from a futro inspired accent, further playing on the idea of motion that serves as inspiration for the shoe. Hints of vivid, almost industrial colors like royal blue to play with this idea of bringing together the past and the future.

The Wild Rider drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on April 10th.

KIDSUPER BRINGS CREATIVITY TO NEW LEVELS IN LATEST PUMA COLLECTION

PUMA and creative artist collective KidSuper Studios are back for another football-inspired, co-branded collection, which is infused with boundless imagination and continues to explore KidSuper’s artistic and experimental way of thinking.

KidSuper Studios is a homegrown artist collective based in Brooklyn, New York. In 2021, this circle of creatives joins with PUMA for a second season, offering their unique perspectives for a series of unexpected collection pieces. Bringing KidSuper founder Colm Dillane’s artwork to life, PUMA enters the crazy and colorful world of KidSuper, where classics are transformed into never-before-seen designs.

The PUMA x KidSuper Studios second collaboration boasts mix-and-match design elements, experimental prints, and challenges the conventional look of a sneaker. Hook and loop closures, decorative zig-zag stitching, and embroidered branding are complemented by raw edges for a purposefully unfinished look. Inspired by Dillane's unbridled love of football, campaign images were shot with his favorite team and recent Copa Libertadores champions, Brazilian club Palmeiras. PUMA sponsored athletes William, Gabriel Veron, Weverton and Renan serve as the models for the collection.

Painting and sketching graphics handmade by KidSuper are brought to life on the apparel pieces in the collection. Items like the hoodie and puffer jacket have a printed painting. Sketches of a face are made into a camo print on the fleece top and pants.

Possibly the most unique and impressive piece in the collection is the bathrobe. It comes in a red, yellow and white all-over-print with co-branded embroidery on the back with piping on collar edge, cuff and hem. It further features a belt, front pockets, and internal pocket. The football inspiration shines through in items such as the crew neck, adorned with the KidSuper football club logo.

Classic PUMA footwear styles are practically unrecognizable with the transformations in this collection. The RS-2K Slip-on is the standout piece, featuring the same camo inspired face print as the fleece top and pants, with a quilted upper. Mirage Mox and Trailfox Boot get colorful transformations and feature unique aspects like stitched leather pieces on the collar to hold a pencil on the Trailfox and tie dye laces on the Mirage Mox. The Vesuvo offers a more subtle option, with a white leather upper and semi-translucent rubber overlay on the heel, KidSuper Studios embroidery on hook and loop straps, and an exposed foam edge on the formstrip and tongue.

Outfit yourself in a work of art when the PUMA x KidSuper collection drops on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on March 13th.

PUMA AND CARA DELEVINGNE CO-CREATE NEW ECO-CONSCIOUS YOGA COLLECTION

Global sports brand PUMA and international model, actress, and activist Cara Delevingne have co-created Exhale, a new eco-conscious yoga collection.

When designing the Exhale Collection, PUMA made thoughtful decisions around sustainability by using eco-conscious materials, such as at least 70% recycled polyester, and by fully offsetting any unavoidable emissions.

The collection is made for those who want to make a more mindful space – spiritually, mentally, and environmentally, without losing any performance benefits. It includes a high waist full tight, studio bra, knit cover up, crop top, boyfriend-inspired tee, leotard, and a jogger – all in a neutral color palette.

“Yoga is one of my biggest passions, it has impacted my life in such a positive way. When PUMA approached me about partnering to create a yoga line, I was thrilled. We both are very focused on the environment, that is why it was important to design a collection with minimal impact,” said Cara. “This creates a more meaningful impact on our mind, body, and practice; allowing us space for peace and tranquility to simply exhale.”

PUMA is committed to reducing its environmental impact and live up to its code of being “Forever Better”. That is why Cara decided to partner with PUMA to create a performance collection that would combine two of her biggest passions – yoga and the environment.

To offset any unavoidable emissions, PUMA partnered with First Climate, a leading provider of services relating to carbon neutrality, green energy, and water management to purchase credits toward the construction of small-sized biogas plants for rural energy supply, which is used to replace conventional fuels like firewood or coal.

PUMA and Cara’s yoga Exhale Collection will be available starting February 15th, on PUMA.com, PUMA Stores, and selected retailers worldwide.

THE ART OF THE PROCESS: NEW COLLECTION FROM PUMA AND MICHAEL LAU

Sports company PUMA and Hong Kong based artist Michael Lau are partnering together again for his first full collection of footwear, apparel and accessories, inspired by the creation of a product for a “SAMPLE” collection.

Based in Hong Kong, Michael Lau achieved worldwide acclaim for his collectible designer toy figures. Throughout the years, he has continually created timeless art pieces and is crowned as the “godfather of toy figures”. The inspiration behind the PUMA X MICHAEL LAU collection, “SAMPLE,” documents the mental journey of the creator, and expresses the interaction between the artist and the product. When working with PUMA, Michael’s aim is not to merely produce commercial products, rather, he is intrigued by the idea of exploring a concept as it begins from scratch to finally creating a masterpiece. That, he believes, is where the fun lies.

“Please enjoy and make fun out of the process of trial and error,” says Lau. “It may surprise you!” Michael hopes to remind everyone that sometimes mistakes will bring joy. According to his creative experience and understanding, when creating an item, no matter if it’s a figure or apparel or sneakers, the most amusing design may come from the designer or the factory technician’s unintentional mistakes. Facing these accidental miscalculations, most would dump the prototype and revise immediately. Michael, however, gladly embraces these mistakes. He observes the beauty of such “errors” from another angle and weaves these elements into his designs. His artistic perceptions are unveiled in the products for the PUMA X MICHAEL LAU collection.

Collection pieces feature hand-drawn pencil graphics, graph paper textures, and other playful design references, resulting in products with a hand-made inspired look and feel. Prints and details play around the idea of a "work in progress" collection, while graphics inspired by Lau’s figures add a personal touch to the pieces. Many items are adorned with phrases like “Reverse,” “Too Long,” and “Too Small”. These are common words used by factories, which highlights the explorative nature of the "SAMPLE” collection.

Bringing these unique design touches to life, the Mirage Mox features a graph paper inspired print alongside bright pops of color. The Ralph Sampson Mid is adorned with digital prints and mismatched color accents on the laces and tongue. Rounding out the footwear in the collection are similar takes on the Ralph Sampson Lo and RS-2K.

The Two-Face Track Jacket is the standout apparel piece, featuring a unique print with pencil mark graphics in a reversible style with a tall collar. The apparel range includes a variety of items that showcase the concept, like the Knit Pants with '"SAMPLE” patch work and the Women's Pocket Hoodie Dress with a kangaroo pocket on the back. Accessories complete the collection with items like a Flat Brim Cap with a detachable "PUMA SAMPLE STUFF" graphic and a Tote Bag that comes equipped for storage and comfort with unique graphic prints.

Outfit yourself in wearable art when the PUMA x Michael Lau launches on PUMA.com, PUMA stores and select retailers on January 16th.

Sports company PUMA teams up with Peanuts for a new line of footwear, apparel, and accessories for adults and kids featuring Charles M. Schulz’s classic characters. The two iconic brands come together to create a fun collection revolving around sport and the Peanuts gang.

Charles M. Schulz first introduced the world to the Peanuts characters in 1950, when the comic strip debuted in seven newspapers. Since then, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang have made an indelible mark on popular culture. After 70 years and nearly 18,000 comic strips, the Peanuts gang remains a staple in pop culture and still has hearts captured around the globe. Much like Snoopy himself, the PUMA X PEANUTS collaboration is full of character and imagination. It brings with it a sense of nostalgia that could only be achieved by the Peanuts gang.

Classic PUMA styles are adorned with members of the Peanuts gang and scenes from basketball for the adult items in this collection. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Woodstock make an appearance on most styles, while Lucy, Linus, and Sally also appear on items like the Women’s Crew Neck and Women's and Men's Tees. The clothing in the collection offers comfy, classic PUMA styles for both men and women in a range of tees, hoodies, and sweatpants.
