SENIOR 3D CAD ENGINEER

Your Mission

  • Work closely with product development, design and product management teams to create highly refined CAD surfaces, advanced assemblies, renderings, and prototypes.  

  • Translate the sketches and designs into technical 3D CAD.  

  • Create surfaces which are visually stunning, and flawless from a construction standpoint. Define aspects of form, geometry, fit, and function, while meeting defined criteria for product cost, manufacturability, and schedules.  

  • Support the in-house rapid prototyping department by operating 3D rapid prototyping systems.  

  • Work closely with technical/trail running, performance training and basketball. 

  • Responsible for communicating and managing projects with our Asia counterparts.  

  • Work closely with Fit & Wear to review worn samples as well as working with Performance Lab to enhance sports activities.  

Your Talent

  • Bachelors degree in industrial design, engineering, product design and/or related field experience. 

  • 8+ years experience in footwear or sporting goods. 

  • Experience in technical/trail running, performance training and basketball is preferred. 

  • Proven proficiency in 3D CAD software with major strengths in surfacing and advanced 3D modeling. 

  • Expert level in Rhino is a must, experience in Grasshopper is an advantage, KeyShot/Vray/Modo and other rendering software experience is a plus.  

  • A think outside the box mindset. Strong mechanical and artistic inclinations with an eye for product. 

  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection/compression molding and tooling making processes. 

  • Knowledge of preparing and operating 3D rapid prototyping solutions. Experience with 3D systems (ProJet series) and Stratasys Objet 3D printing systems preferred. Proficiency with Materialise Magics also a plus. 

  • Ability to communicate and present technical information to worldwide personnel through various medias, including: 

  • Digital images: Proficiency with 3D photo realistic, and adobe CS package a huge plus. 

  • Strong knowledge of 3D file exchange formats (e.g. IGES, STL, DXF etc..) 

  • Drawing skills. 

  • Some Domestic and international travel required (at least twice per year)
