Your Mission

The Product Line Manager is responsible for driving the on-field and licensed merchandise for our local team assets and partners.

This role’s key accountability is to develop the high performance on-field and off-field ranges for our teams within the parameters of their specific requirements, whilst adhering to Global standards and Brand guidelines. It is also a requirement to design and develop commercial licensed merchandise ranges for each of our local assets to drive the profitability of the category within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the seasonal ranges for specific Team sport categories and Partners on a timely basis, following a defined critical path, ensuring Global Brand and product guidelines are adhered to, whilst support maximising the commercial opportunity.

  • Understand the competeitive landscape and consumer trends to drive the innovative and industry leading ranges to profitability for the category

  • Lead the range briefing, approval, and GTM process, including development of all required documentation, presentations and support materials with the support of the Teamhead Business & Merchandise Sports Licensing.

  • Adhere to global brand guidelines, production standards and timeframes.

Design and Order Process:

  • Work with partners to understand their brand and business objectives and lead the internal design team to create a range to deliver on their brief and meet Puma brand objectives

  • With support from the Partnership Manager ensure the range is approved by partners, sponsors and leagues prior to starting production

  • Lead the product order process through order processing and allocation of both international and local garments

  • Manage the range architecture for each partner to ensure all on field, off field and retail range needs are met with support from the Teamhead Business & Merchandise Sports Licensing

  • Manage the pricing for all locally and internationally sourced product and embellishment


  • Manage club fitting’s or club specific product sessions

  • Work with the Partnership Manager to secure approvals for Team sport ranges, including sponsor and league logo approvals  

  • Monitor the quality of all licensed team wear products to ensure the highest standards are met

Sales Support:

  • Support the go to market process in conjunction with internal stakeholders

  • Oversee the preparation of range booklets in conjunction with line lists and price lists relevant to each season

  • Work with the Sales team to ensure all sales tools relating to licensed teams are available and accessible at time of launch and where required

  • Deliver product imagery and descriptions for use in catalogue and for retailer needs

Operations and Delivery:

  • Ensure deliveries to partners are on track to be delivered on time and in full

  • Communicate delivery dates to the partnership managers to ensure clear communication with all partners

  • Oversee progress of club specific orders to guarantee delivery to club on time and in full as negotiated

  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure all product requirements align with all marketing initiatives


  • Manage, coach and support Direct Report to ensure a clear Teamwork ethic and collaborate both with Merchandise and other Departmental colleagues to align on strategy and execution.

  • Support the Partnership manager with VIK tracking and management

  • Participate and be an active member of the fortnightly Marketing/Team Sport WIP

  • Assisting with range teardown and reporting throughout the season

  • Complete all other tasks relating to the role which are deemed fair and reasonable

Your Talent

  • 3 -5  years’ experience in merchandise or category management role. Industry experience and expertise in Local team sport.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business studies or similar
  • Proficient in word, PowerPoint & excel. Illustrator and Photoshop a benefit
