Your Talent
Internship or other work experience in a related area – apparel development/design, patternmaking, fitting, garment manufacturing
Associate’s Degree or higher in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or similar, from a credited school/university
5 Days per week availability, in-person at our Somerville location
General knowledge of apparel construction, fabric/trims, costing, and overall manufacturing processes.
A pro-active, team-based personality.
Ability to use Microsoft Office/Adobe Illustrator/Web based applications. Basic Excel knowledge is needed
Ability to pivot and adapt when priorities change
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Some knowledge of sewing, garment construction, pattern making
Your Mission
Working closely with technical developers within the Puma Apparel Development team, you will be given the opportunity to work in a hands-on apparel development environment. In this role you will:
Review and measure garments to ensure they correspond with design sketches
Learn to create measurement charts
Organize samples
Schedule fit sessions, and book models
Maintain a shared data site and calendars
Attend relevant meetings such as design reviews, proto review/fittings, and line presentations
Research the market for innovation & newness to further grow & improve the apparel collection
Partner across functions, with design, product line managers, and development
Practice effective project time management
Adhere to corporate policies and procedures
Gain a better understanding of garment fit, pattern adjustments, garment construction, and 3D pattern software
Learn to manage several projects simultaneously, react to urgent requests, and self-manage priorities
