The Teamhead Business and Merchandise Sports Licensing is responsible for driving the local Sports Licensing business through increased efficiencies and profitability across global and local ranges developed for our local team assets and partners.
This role’s key accountability is to work across all departments of the company and external stakeholders including sales, operations, marketing, and manufacturing to effectively drive and adhere to the critical path to deliver all ranges in line with business commercial targets. This role is also required to explore the evolution of the category through advances in process, production, materials and trends.
The role requires mathematical and analytical abilities to develop pricing models and forecast product profitability, as well as the ability to analyse technical, financial, marketing, and sales information for the ranges. From here range objectives, key timelines for development and a product launch strategy must be developed and communicated to the business, making suggestions on how to better improve current product lines or how the company can enter underdeveloped market segments.
Own and drive the critical path from end to end to ensure delivery to partners and retailers, in full and on time, following a defined critical path, ensuring Global Brand and product guidelines are adhered to, whilst maximising the commercial opportunity
Understand the commercial landscape and consumer trends to deliver a profitable and competitive range
Lead and manage the development of the range architecture across the category to ensure adherence to margin targets, and conduct seasonal margin and pricing analysis in line with critical path
Submit accurate financial forecasts for budgeting purposes, as well as unit forecasts to purchasing to secure capacity
Ensure line lists and costing documents are accurately completed and provided to the business in line with key critical path dates
Oversee the pricing negotiations for all locally and internationally sourced product and embellishment
Drive the long term product development and sales strategies for the category
Oversee the range briefing, approval, and GTM process, including development of all required documentation, presentations and support materials
Ongoing focus on refining ordering, design, production and approval processes with a view to maximizing efficiencies
Work with partners to understand their brand and business objectives and support the internal design team to create a range to deliver on their brief and meet Puma brand objectives
With support from the Partnership Manager ensure the range is approved by partners, sponsors and leagues prior to commencing production
Provide support across the team to ensure all on field, off field and retail range needs are met
Lead the range teardown and reporting throughout the season
Manage VIK budgets and sample budgets and ensure no overages
Ensure all suppliers are approved and audited according to global guidelines
Develop annual sales plan, in collaboration with sales partners and key customers, that drives year over growth in line with regional mid term targets
Oversee the go to market process in conjunction with internal stakeholders
Ensure all sales tools relating to licensed teams are available and accessible at time of launch and where required
Oversee delivery product imagery and descriptions for use in catalogue and for retailer needs
Operations and Delivery:
Ensure deliveries to partners are on track to be delivered in time and in full
Communicate delivery dates to the partnership managers to ensure clear communication with all partners
Oversee progress of club specific orders to guarantee delivery to club on time and in full as negotiated
Work with the Marketing team to ensure all product requirements align with all marketing initiatives
Manage, coach and support Direct Reports to ensure a clear Teamwork ethic and collaborate both with Merchandise and other Departmental colleagues to align on strategy and execution.
Participate and be an active member of cross functional WIPs
Complete all other tasks relating to the role which are deemed fair and reasonable
