Qualifications:
- Senior level, minimum 5-7 years product design
experience with at least 5 years footwear design experience in running, training,
or other performance category.
- Minimum 4-year College/University degree or
equivalent in Art/Design, Fine Art, Industrial Design, Graphic Design,
Interior Design, Architecture, Fashion, Apparel & Textile Design, or
related.
- Strong drawing, rendering and presentation
skills.
- Refined design conceptualization and
communication skills.
- Competency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel and work internationally 25%
yearly.
Must Demonstrate:
- Developed skills/knowledge in the areas of: Three
dimensional design/footwear design, product conceptualization, technical
package specification, design for best practices in product function and
manufacturing, color and material creation/selection, prototyping and
sample creation, manufacturing processes and procedures, design presentation
skills, fashion/consumer trends and global market dynamics in footwear.
- Creative and innovative design skills within
multiple areas of the design process.
- A strong eye for detail and refinement.
- Excellent organizational skills coupled with a
pro-active, team based personality.
- Ability to effectively interface and communicate
with an international team located on multiple continents.
- Teaching and mentoring skills to Junior Footwear
Designers.
Overview:
The Senior level Footwear
Design position will be responsible for meeting seasonal design objectives for
the Progressive Running category. The
candidate will design footwear by combining influences of sport, fashion and
lifestyle to bring unique products to market. Duties include designing
seasonal fashion/performance driven footwear and address fast paced design
requests for footwear design detailing: color and material selection, presentation
preparation, market research, and logistical support.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the
Creative Design Director and Creative Directing Manager, create unique new
footwear designs that address consumer, retailer, and company needs on a
seasonal timeline:
- Conceptualize new footwear designs.
- Provide market research and design trend
analysis.
- Prepare design review presentations.
- Execute footwear design detailing and technical
packages.
- Design and specify trend
relevant color and material options.
- Refine and finish footwear designs through
multiple prototyping process.
- Manage and update design resource tools;
including web page and data base management.
- Mentor and assist Junior Footwear Designers.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare original designs and execute to the
highest level of quality without direct supervision.
- Show effective project time management.
- Ability to follow corporate policies and
procedures.
- Acquire and share knowledge/skills.
- Understand design quality and project efficiency.
- Understand footwear manufacturing materials and
processes.
- Computer skills (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
etc.)
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding in
consumer trends; retail/market/product line dynamics and how the products
you design affect those environments.
- Show self-motivation, drive and the desire to
learn and grow professionally.

timeline.
Footwear Development Team
