Internship Research & Development Apparel

Research & Development develops the entire PUMA collection in cooperation with the product line managers and designers. The development of the collection involves selecting substances or materials, working out styles based on price, technical style descriptions, as well as fit checks and tracking of all samples. This also includes entering our data into the internal PUMA computer system (PRM = Product Range Manager).
The internship lasts for 6 months starting from February 2014 full of exciting tasks and projects like:

  • Assisting in developing different collections, e.g. Sports Leisure, Kids, Teamsport, Motorsport, Headwear, Swim-and Beachwear
  • Fabric and trim selection incl. set up of material boards
  • Set up and maintenance of tech packs
  • Check technical drawings of designer(s) and update if necessary (Adobe Illustrator),
  • Set up and maintenance of Bill Of Materials
  • Set up and maintenance of style measurement charts
  • Set up of samples for prototype meetings
  • Unpacking, marking, measuring
  • Fitting of prototypes
  • Commenting on prototypes with regards to measurements, fit, workmanship and design
  • Follow-up of samples as pre-prototypes, prototypes, sealing
  • Commenting on sealing samples
  • Maintaining and updating PUMA internal Product Range Manager application

What we are looking for:

  • Study program such as Textile & Clothing, Textile Management, Clothing Technology, Textile Engineering etc.
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
  • Upper intermediate knowledge in MS Office and Adobe Illustrator
  • Reliability, flexibility as well as being a team player should be your part of your personal soft skill set
  • Moreover we expect a high level of motivation, commitment and enthusiasm
