Intern - Footwear Design, Key Accounts

The Footwear Design Intern will be responsible for assisting PUMA International Footwear Designers, Footwear Color Designers, Footwear Developers, and Product Line Managers meet their seasonal design objectives. Duties include design support on a wide spectrum of fashion and performance driven footwear. Projects include: Fast-paced Key Account requests for creating new color/material selection and presentation preparation. Also included is creating unique, “theme/concept inspired” footwear design packages.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to team members in all aspects of the footwear design and Key Account presentation preparation process.
• Utilizing predetermined Color Palettes, design and specify trend relevant color and material options for footwear.
• Execute footwear design line art, detailing and technical packages in Adobe Illustrator
• Create design presentations in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Manage and update design resource tools. Including web page and data base management.
We expect:
• Academic credit internship.
• Fall 2009 Semester
• Hours are flexible.
• Must currently be enrolled in college/university (sophomore level or above) seeking a degree in Art/Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Fashion, Apparel & Textile Design, Surface Design, or related.
• Solid knowledge of Adobe Illustrator on Mac platform is required. Additional knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint is recommended.
• Creative and innovative graphic design /color design skills and a desire to develop and refine skills/knowledge in the areas of:
Graphic Design, color design, and material design applied to three dimensional design/footwear design and building dynamic design presentations.
• The ability to process information and deliver on important timelines.
• Close attention to details.
• Excellent organizational skills coupled with a pro-active, team based personality.
• Ability to effectively interface and communicate with an international team located on multiple continents.
• An interest in the footwear design process.
